REQUIEM: A Mass for the repose of the souls of the dead.

Mission Report: 20th December 2022
Submitting Officer: General Norris

I am the above named Officer, providing this mission report in response to CODENAME: REQUIEM, a classified mission which occurred through Monday 19th December to Tuesday 20th December. The mission took place at SAS Credenhill, Herefordshire, in conjunction with the Private Military Contractor Philip Graves and his Shadow Company. On these dates, I was working under the callsign, Alpha-Actual, and my colleague General Shepherd was also assigned to this callsign with me.

At 1900hours GMT, an awards ceremony begun in the mess hall. Present was the entirety of Task Force 141, Delta Team, and Golf Team, all of whom were situated in various points inside the room. Our intelligence suggested that Spencer 'Fury' Thompson would be present, and that she would be arriving at roughly 1930hours GMT with her partner, Simon 'Ghost' Riley. Fury, who I will describe later, played a crucial part in our mission.

When the King left, at roughly 2140hours GMT, all soldiers were briefed in regards to the continuity of the mission, and were given their targets to Capture or Kill. There were four teams, one of which was the team Philip Graves was attached to. This team, Bravo-One, were tasked with entering the mess hall and collecting the prisoners inside so that they could be rounded up and taken to a secure location.

Once this had taken place, a report came in at 2239hours GMT, stating that Fury had escaped lawful custody, and her whereabouts were unknown. Operators attempted to track her down, but with her expansive knowledge of close quarters combat paired with her knowledge of Guerrilla combat techniques, Fury was not apprehended. And, at 2245hours, I gave authorisation to execute on sight.

At 0239hours GMT on Tuesday 20th December, 2022, an international call was received to the mobile, item referenced as DAN38 with the bag number of NPA-027U592X, from a male I believe to be Kyle 'Gaz' Garrick. He spoke with me, and requested I send United States Marine units to infiltrate the base and put an end to the occupation of SAS Credenhill. At 0245hours GMT, I authorised this, and dispatched one of the teams on mission to pose as a rescue mission. They were given a separate briefing to that of Shadow Company, and they were issued the authority to execute the Shadow Company operators, should the necessity prevent.

Early into the morning at 0800hours GMT, I received a call from Sergeant Morino, who stated he had captured the soldiers and lined them up on the parade square. The ones who surrendered were still alive, as per our obligation under International Law.

However, at 0802hours GMT, I was made aware that Philip Graves was declared dead, believed to have been murdered by his Fiancé, Fury. At 0830hours GMT, Spencer 'Fury' Thompson was pronounced dead by EMT Hirsch, with the reasoning being a gunshot wound to the head. However, this was just for semantics, because the aim of our mission was to capture the British SAS Operator.

I will now describe Fury. She is a White-British Female, standing around 5ft 4 in height, she is of a muscular build, and has dark brown hair which is below her shoulders. She has blue eyes, and a scar across the left side of her face. There is a further scar on her left leg, which spans from the joint in her hip to below her knee, and also runs horizontally across the skin. She is a threat to our operations here, and is knowledgable to future intelligence gathering missions.

Fury will be remaining at our covert training facility in Virgina and will remain as an asset to the United States Marine Corps. Under no circumstances must the SAS find out that she is alive. If the realisation is made, she will have to be exterminated.

[END OF BOOK ONE]

First of all, I want to say a huuuuuge thank you to all of those who stuck around when this book was written. It has not been quick, and it has not been easy! I've stayed up researching Military terms, both British and International, weapons terms, and the characters to great detail.

Creating Spencer 'Fury' Thompson has been one of my favourite things to do as a writer, I wanted someone who was relatable, but also not too soft towards the face of danger. In short, I wanted a badass female lead who people could be inspired by, and Spencer provided exactly that. She is someone I have loved writing, and I cannot love her enough.

I owe you all a massive thank you for sticking around, correcting my shitty Spanish, and for engaging with this story. For all those of you who have commented and voted, you have made this story possible, and I cannot thank you all enough for being with me on this mission.

Hope you all enjoyed the teaser, because Fury and Ghost's stories are far from over.

Requiem's character profiles + playlist have been published, and I can't wait to share the first chapter with you as soon as possible.

Finished: Sunday 20th November, 2022.
