Sunday night
"Ok so Stef is allergic to peanuts , tree nuts , almonds, and pea-cans...do you have smoke alarms?"
Janine our most annoying neighbor asks me checking over the clip board in her hand I don't even know why we're letting her kid have a sleepover with Marcus
"Yes" me and Lilia answer
"So Fire alarm?"
"Yes"
"Carbon di-"
"Yes"
" all right all right and you don't happen to have a gun" he eyes wonder around the house down the hall
"N-"
"Yes" I'm quick to cut Lilia off carrying Teagan on my hip
"Wh-" Lilia tried
"I keep a gun in the house to protect my shoes.....oh and you guys too"I chuckle starting to bounce Teagan as she giggles
"you know there's been a couple break ins in the neighborhood so we wanted to be safe" I finish with another chuckle as Lilia stares at me while I put my arm around her shoulder
"Oh! That makes sense" she trembles in response
"Stef! Stef! Don't settle in!" Janine runs past us upstairs I shrug while Li continues to stare at me

Monday morning
It's the next morning and I'm in the Kitchen putting milk in Teagans sippy cup getting ready for work
"Yea babe I met to ask you...um .. why did you tell Janine we have a gun" she ask calmly taking Teagan from me
"I've been talking about getting a gun for years"
"What are you a Russian spy?-" She asks me sarcastically as I give her Teagan's cup
"And especially now that the kids are freaked out about the break ins in the neighborhood" I say as she stares at me like I'm speaking Korean "Li it would just be a good asset if we got a gun"
"Got a gun?!Wait so we've been living in this house without one?" Autumn's jaw drops to the floor while walking in with Lily ready for school
"Oh my goodness where do you come from" Lilia mumbled
"Pumpkin seeds" Lily replied with a toothy smile running into me for a hug
"Not literally Lillian" Lilia says through her teeth hugging her while Autumn rolled her eyes
"Can we get back to question now you mean to tell me we've been living in this house without a gun!" Autumn motioned her hands
"Yeah mommy I thought you loved us" Lily frowned
"Wha-what" I try
"For the record dad has a gun" Autumn snarks as they walked out headed upstairs
"W-why did I have children" Lilia rubs her forehead while Teag lays on her head on her chest
"So we're getting a gun" I say with a smile
"No! Jill do you know how dangerous those things are?We can barely leave Lily alone in a bath by herself every day that girl doesn't drown herself from brushing her teeth is a victory"

"End of discussion" she's says walking to the garage after giving Teagan back to me
"I see you still just not listening when someone tells you you're not doing something"
