After the incident, I never saw the group I called friends in the academy. Though I saw an influx of goons who said they were from team star, some gang of sorts.
They were often seen harassing students into joining their group, some students resorting to battling them away with their pokémon.
For me, the star grunts avoided me like I was a plauge. They never tried to battle me, and if I spoke to one they seemed scared of disrespecting me as if I was some authority figure.
I hated it.
I didn't want any association with team star, and I spent my time fending them off away from any students they targeted.
Having turned off my rotom phone, I didn't hear a peep from the people I had called friends for so many months even after turning it back on. I remained bitter, remembering the chaos caused in alola by the ultra beasts.
I gave up everything I had there to have a life without chaos here, only to get the peace ripped from me once again.
I looked to the beast ball on my desk in resentment.
Barely ever did I battle with nihilego, I'd only captured it to prevent it from attacking a trainer using a beast ball I had found..
I didn't even know what types it was, since it didn't register in my pokédex.
Running a hand down my face, I heaved a sigh and shoved the beast ball back in my pocked before looking to vulpix, who played with rockruff on the floor.
Suddenly, a bell rung and students were called to the school yard.
Wonder what it is this time?

A treasure hunt?
Director clavell wanted us to go on a treasure hunt?
I stood in silent shock as students began to disperse. What was I going to look for? I didn't know what I wanted to find as treasure, not at all!
Pondering as I paced the town square, I tried to busy myself with my thoughts. Maybe I'd look for actual buried treasure.. but what about the gym challenge?
Leaving the city, I wandered towards lavencia. Maybe the beach would do me well, since it felt like the beaches of home.
Some student I've never seen before stopped me in my tracks after leaving the gate. His pompadour stood out, he looked old for a student.
"Hey fellow student, can I speak to you for a sec?"
———
"You want me to go into the team star bases and serve as a distraction so you can defeat my former friends?" I raised a brow at Clive, the suspicious student nodding.
"No." I went to turn away, before he called out again. "I know they were once close to you, but at this rate they're on track for expulsion." I stopped, glancing over my shoulder to give Clive a look.
"And if I WERE to join your sketchy little operation, what would I even do here? I haven't battled in ages." I deadpan, vulpix sharing my expression.
"Who says you would be doing the fighting?"

Fantasy[ortega is platonic, no NSFW content] being somewhat of an outcast after moving from alola wasn't too much to handle, especially after making a group of friends that stood out amongst the rest.
