It is true, that when House Targaryen is concerned, greatness and madness are two sides of the same coin. But the same can also be said for tragedy and love. The following depicts the history of Liliyana Targaryen and Aemond "One-Eye" Targaryen. Sourced by court fool Mushroom and Septon Eustace.

Despite their conflicting accounts, both men could agree that Liliyana Targaryen (née Lannister) was a kind and soft woman. Far too gentle for court life. A typical Lannister, the girl carried green eyes and long blonde hair that brightened in the sun. But what the girl lacked in harshness, her husband more than made up for.

Aemond "One-Eye" (later "Kinslayer") Targaryen is synonymous with starting the Dance of Dragons, but few remember that his devotion to his wife far outweighed the conflict. The mad Targaryen (as he was often called when in the presence of his wife) devoted himself entirely to her. Going as far as bowing when she entered a room. Or cutting her food for her. His mental devolved following a series of misfortunes brought upon his wife. His darkened soul wrapped further around her, like a serpent, and he asked for neigh in return.

Nothing, we now know, but tragedy.

House Lannister managed to claim both portraits for Casterly Rock, but her body remains beside what is left of her husband's in the Great Sept of Baelor in King's Landing.

Author's Note:

This is a little idea I had. Since the show is taken from Fire and Blood, I thought it would make sense to add some flavor text to the story (dates/years have been edited to fit story). Might do the same for my Aegon work.

Depending on how the show handles Alys Rivers, she will make an appearance and I'll go from there. Assuming they incorporate her. They probably will..she's kind of a bigish deal. No spoilers if you don't know anything about her or her involvement. Just know that she worms her way into Aemond's life during the war. And Liliyana's (maybe).
