I woke up feeling something is missing, my left hand slowly slipped out of the comforter searching for Jake's body. Terror fell on me, I quickly got up and opened my eyes. Tears came rushing like water falls seeing the other side of the bed...empty. My greatest fear is happening.
I quickly rushed down the stairs hoping to find Jake. I searched every part of the house and nothing.
There's no signs of Jake.
I went out of the house hoping he is just getting some fresh air, my eyes searched every corner but all I see are plants, an empty bench, and trees whose leaves are starting to fall.
Jake left.
He didn't even say goodbye.
Why?!

Why Jake?!

I wish to say goodbye to him before he leave,
I want to stare at his eyes that reminds of the ocean, to embrace him tight and sniff his scent.
To tell him how much I love him and that I'm going to wait, no matter how much time it takes.
But he didn't even gave me a chance to.
My chest started to ache, it is as if it is getting squeezed, even breathing is getting painful.
I clung to the knob for support as I slowly sat on the floor, crying helplessly calling out Jake's name.
It felt like the time has stopped for me, I was just there, crying.
Until I felt a presence.
I slowly lifted up my face to see whose presence it is.

There I saw Jake standing in front of me.

In a split second he grabbed my hand and hugged me tightly.

"You came back" I whispered almost chocked as I supress my tears.

Jake didn't said a word but kissed me passionately.

His presence and warmth is enough to calm the ragging storm in me.

"I thought it would be best, but I can't leave without telling you something" Jake said.

Jake slowly lifted on my feet and kneeled, he held my left hand and kissed it.

"I will come back to you, and the next time we see each other, I will ask you to marry me love"

With that he got up and cupped my face and leaned closer.

"I don't have much time. I need to go baby. Please don't cry and smile for me instead"

I nodded my head in response.

"I love you so much" Jake said and kissed my forehead.

"I love you too Jake. Promise me you'll be safe" I pleaded.

"I will. Don't cry as if I died okay?" Jake asked in return.

"I promise" I answered with a smile.

Jake slowly walked away without looking back while I was watching him slowly disappearing in the forest.

I feel like my tears are starting to fall again, but I tried my best to fight it.

After all, I promised Jake.

When Jake vanished out of my sight, I went back to my room and there I saw a letter on my table.
I quickly grabbed it knowing it was from Jake.

To MC,

First let me apologize for leaving you, please don't cry. In my absence you will still feel my presence. In this conquest, we are together no matter the distance is. I will always be with you, always watching you from afar, protecting you always. Remember that.
I need a hand to solve this quest, my little brilliant detective.
I have hidden clues and instructions all over the house.
Don't worry, I will be with you and guide you in this fight.
