Katsuki and you are in the same class again this year and you are so excited for the first day! But when you arrive he seems even more full of himself than last year. 'At least that's how he is choosing to present.' Your mind scolds you for judging so quickly. The first day of third year went by in a flash. It feels so good to be back but...you couldn't help but miss the Katsuki Bakugou you had come to know in the summer months and...possibly fallen in love with. You shake your head in an attempt to stop the pesky inner monologue from pulling you into darkness. Bakugo makes an annoyed, "Tch." As the teacher announces that we are done for the day and free to set up our dorm rooms. You arrive at the dorm Mina trying to talk to you as you walk but you're absolutely unable to focus on her. Your eyes are fixed on Bakugo's back. You all split up to find the number you were given when you and Bakugo stop in front of doors directly across from each other. "Uh...." Katsuki looks at you for the first time today only instead of attentive eyes you get a glare that could cut like a blade. "This had better be a FUCKING MISTAKE!" He bellows before storming off toward the stairwell. You blink at the plain dorm room hallway mouth agape. A room...next to...Katsuki...and he isn't happy?" Tears began to sting your eyes and out of your mouth words to no one, "I guess that Bakugo isn't real..." slips from your tongue. It feels bitter and hopeless. You stand shocked as a piece of you crumbles inside. The air being sucked from your lungs as if by a vacuum.
-Flash To July-
You sit on a patch of beautiful green grass in the park. With your mom being Midnight the house was often empty, and today was too beautiful to pass up! You spread your blanket, pull out four manga and enough food for three people. You realize standing there looking down at your little paradise that perhaps your excitement got the better of you again. You giggle and pick up the manga you are currently reading. Fully expect to read at least two more if not all four of them before you leave the park. Laying down on your belly you allow yourself to be completely sucked into the storyline. You feel a kick to your foot and jolt jarringly back to reality. You sit up suddenly remembering that villains are a definite concern, but instead of a threat you are caught in the gaze of two beautiful crimson eyes. "Bakugo?" He's shirtless and sweating his abs are amazing. It feels impossible for you to tear your eyes away. 'Uh...oh..." You realize you have been staring enough to make Bakugo angry. "What you doin out here alone ya damn nerd?!" His voice is so loud that you see a few people look your way. Feeling embarrassed and annoyed that he kicked your foot you begin to strongly consider fighting him then and there, but you look into his eyes again realizing that he is surveying the area with a flash of worry in his beautiful eyes. "I'm...sorry..." You mutter unsure of how to handle this bizarre exchange. This Bakugo was so different from the one you would see in class. "Don't say sorry you idiot, make room for me!" He demands rather aggressively. "I will if you just stop yelling like that. Some people enjoy the quiet, ya know." He grumbles some insults under his breath but otherwise keeps his cool. Putting a manga and some of the food on the outer edge of the blanket gives him space beside you. He sits down with a huff and grabs one of your water bottles. "Why the hell do you have so much food? Ya get stood up or somethin?" Your eyes widen in shock at the question. "I got overly excited about being here I guess." Your eyes narrowed slightly deciding the question was out of line. "Good." Is the only word he replies with, but you could swear you saw his body relax in response to your answer...but why? He opens a container beside him looking over to see if you interject. He chooses one of your homemade rice cakes, takes a big bite and practically moans. "I didn't think this would be any good, but it tastes just like my mom's!" he exclaims, bringing a bubbly giggle carried by the butterflies in your stomach. That's a huge compliment from him. "I'm glad you like it." You reply leaning over him to grab one for yourself. You both sit there in an oddly comfortable silence while you eat both feeling content with the fact that you're together today. "So what brings you out to my paradise today?" You wonder aloud looking over at your handsome classmate. The way the sun dances on his eyelashes when he turns his head towards you, about takes your breath away. "Oh um I was home alone today and bored out of my damn mind." You take note of his body language and tone, deciding he likely didn't want to talk about why. "Sweet. Funny enough it's the same for me." Your reply deciding to disclose this might even make him feel a bit better about being open with you. You grab another rice cake and catch Bakugo giving you a small grateful smile for letting the subject drop.
-Present day-
I can hear Bakugo raging downstairs, and before I can even realize what's happening I burst into tears. I collapse onto my bed heartbreak welding me to the f/c comforter. The sobs rock my body to it's core and I struggle with my throat not to let them make a sound. The thing that got me out of bed at 6am this morning was the thought of seeing him. I was excited to see the others of course but...A visual memory of you and Bakugo holding hands as fireworks blasted before you flashes before your eyes. This beautiful moment cuts straight through your chest and you scream unable to control it any longer. Your harsh crying meets Shoto's ears and he heads to your room worried.
Your head snaps forward when you hear the knock. Standing slowly and wiping your eyes you manage to pull yourself together enough to drag your abnormally heavy body to the door. You look out of confusion all over your face. "To-Todoroki?" You stammer completely baffled. "Hey Y/N, um I'm not great at talking and stuff but do you need someone with you?" His wide eyes searched for yours sharing an understanding of true pain. You could melt into the floor right now you feel so relieved he's not badgering for answers to why you're like this right now. Unfortunately the kind gesture causes you to lose control of your sobs. All you can do is give the boy a small nod and move aside. Closing the door you touch the lock but completely miss, thinking it's locked you turn and collapse against your friend and classmate Shoto Todoroki. He swiftly sits you on your bed not wanting to risk you falling and becoming injured. Curling into a ball his deep soothing voice urges you to let go. "Fighting this isn't a good option. I learned that in my first year here." Having him there alone makes you feel you have permission to feel your pain. Your sobs continue your mind going from Bakugo to your broken home, and too the fact that you question heroes even when attempting to become one yourself. Todoroki wraps an arm around you and awkwardly pats your back. Seeing him be so gently unsure yet trying his best makes you choke a laugh between sobs. This is such a healing moment for you. Seeing as you can not remember the last time you allowed yourself to cry.
"Hey the hell you crying about huh?!" Bakugo screams storming through your door. "I think she had that shut for a reason." Todoroki speaks for you seeing how the moment Bakugo walked in you've frozen in place. "Icy hot?! WHAT THE FUCK?" Bakugo glares down at you and Todoroki still on the small dorm room bed. His blood is boiling sweat drips down his face and his body seems to vibrate. "Get. Out." Bakugo demands through gritted teeth. Something inside you flips and the glare you set on Bakugo could put his to shame any day. From somewhere deep in your belly a rage you've never known explodes from you. It pushes you to your feet and an electrical current into your hand shooting a spark as you aggressively point to your door. "Katsuki Bakugo get the fuck out! Shoto is here helping me through the pain YOU CAUSED!" You are screaming loud enough by the end that everyone in the dorms can hear it bouncing off the walls. "I didn't hurt you!" Bakugo screams, stepping up into your face. Todoroki stands then ready to defend you from the hot-head if necessary. "I said to get out Bakugo." You growl through gritted teeth, your eyes and electricity daring him to argue. The smell of him is so strong...like when he would hold you in his arms. Tears push their way past your eyelashes and for a second Bakugo's mask cracks. His eyes revealed to Todoroki that he too was feeling pain. All yours could see was flashes of the summer and rage, happy memories painted red with agonizing lies. "You don't want me here? FINE! Have fun with the stupid halfwit but keep it down crybaby. I need some damn sleep." With that he storms out into the hallway to find the whole of class 1-A congregated outside your door hiding so that they could eavesdrop. Deku is in front and Bakugo shoves him hard. "MOVE IT YA EXTRAS!" Bakugo yells at the top of his lungs. He nearly rips his door off its hinges, opening it slamming it into Kirishima and Kaminari's heads. Kirishima just grunts, activating his quirk he follows Bakugo to hopefully find out what's going on while the rest of the class comes to check on you.
