Chapter 5

The walk back is a bit tense between Bakugo and Todoroki with them both continuously fighting to get your attention. Eventually Todoroki wins by showing you a manga he's been writing on his phone the last few weeks. With a slightly snotty smirk he looks over at Bakugo and says to you, "I'm so glad we're so close Y/N." Your cheeks turn warm and you can only imagine how red your face is. "Me too Shoto." Bakugo shrinks back from your words, too shocked to even yell about it...you guys were already on a first name basis?

Mina waves at you as well as Tsu and they head to their rooms which are in a hallway directly below yours, Todoroki, and Bakugo's. "I'll catch up later Y/N I got kitchen duties tonight." You nod at your new crush and reply, "I'll come down and help once I change!" Todoroki nods and turns toward the kitchen. "You look pretty by the way." Is all he says before hurrying away. His comment sends your heart a flutter and your face to turn a bright pink. 'I can't believe he thinks I'm pretty! I gotta tell the girls!' You pull out your phone and start texting your lil group chat about what had just happened. Unfortunately for you this has made you completely ignore your surroundings. Upon entering your bedroom you completely skip over Bakugo in your desk chair and flip over to your wardrobe. "Hmmm normal sweats just won't cut it." You say aloud and Bakugo scoffs, causing you to jump out of your skin and send electricity to your palm.

"What the hell are you doing in here Bukugo?!" The electricity in your hand fades but you can feel the tension snake its way into your belly urging you to shoot him anyways. You hated to admit and likely never would out loud, but you had truly missed having him in your space. "Y/N you better ta-I'm sorry. Listen, Y/N hearing you call Todoroki by his first name made me realize Spiky hair is right." Bakugo lets out a sigh and stands in front of you close enough you can smell the sweet smell of his sweat. "I just..." Bakugo growls in frustration, unsure of how to do this. "I DON'T HATE YOU ALRIGHT!" He yells in your face before slamming his lips to yours. Your body freezes you had expected yelling maybe even a straight up attack from the lil pomeranian (thx Mina) but instead you got this? Bakugo pulls away his teeth buckled hard as if welded shut in the time between the kiss and now. "You're too good for him." And with that being said Bakugo storms out of the room leaving you a bundle of confusion, excitement, and hormones. "Bye Katsuki." You say sarcastically at the sound of his door slamming. Shaking your head you decide on pink sweatpants and a comfy white crop-top that you really hoped Mineta never would see you in. "What the actual fuck just happened?" You ask yourself in the mirror too shocked to process it all just yet you head down to the kitchen to help Todoroki as promised. Little do you know he has a surprise for you as well.

Todoroki sits at a table with a pot of tea steeping in front of him. "I thought we were cleaning?" You wonder, confusion saturating each word. Your clueless expression brings a beautiful chuckle from Todoroki's mouth. "I really only said that because I didn't want Bakugo hurting you again because of me." Todoroki proceeds after a short pause, "I apologize for my behavior on the way back home. I likely just made things more difficult." You smile loving how kind and considerate he is, and go to take a seat on the floor next to him. "So where's the real Shoto and what have you done with him?" You giggle sitting close enough you can feel the heat off of his skin. Only to look over and realize...oh yea no sarcasm skills. "What I mean is you are really surprising me with this, and there's no need to apologize. I enjoy seeing your progress on your manga and I love hanging out with you. Bakugo is just...Bakugo I guess..." a vision of him kissing you flashes before your eyes and you push it back into your subconscious. "But when I'm with you I feel like I can talk about things and I really appreciate that. I'm rambling!" The sudden understanding you come to makes you giggle awkwardly and change the subject. "So what are we drinking today?" Todoroki grabs the tea pot and pours in the most elegant fashion you've ever seen, a pink tinted tea that smells like summer and love slowly fills your cup and you take it gratefully. "Well I asked for advice from Momo and she said it encourages um...romantic feelings and the taste makes you feel spicy." Todoroki's face goes red but he wanted so badly to answer your question that really is all she had told him about the tea. You giggle and shake your head. "Smart move going to her for the tea and advice in general but...what the hell she's right!" The hibiscus rose herbal mixture hits your tongue with a hint of green and you instantly feel expensive and powerful. "Wait what?!" Todoroki grabs his glass and takes a slow drink. His face tells you he definitely doesn't get the hype. You giggle again and explain, "A woman does not simply taste tea they experience it, and this shit right here is tellin me I'm Persephone." Todoroki perks up knowing about this topic. "She's the Greek one right? She was taken by Hades." You nod loving how he states it in such a serious voice. You guys had learned about this just recently so it was fresh in both your minds.

You both end up drinking the whole thing together and talking. Only this time about happier memories. "Yea my sister she once knocked me over and I tased her by accident." You both enjoy telling little stories of your younger selves neither of you get far though as you quickly run out of positive things. "So why do you want to be a hero? I don't think you've ever talked about it." Todoroki asks, his eyes filled with sincere curiosity. "Yeah I tend to avoid the question, but the real answer is that I know my quirk is dangerous and I want to use that danger to make a positive impact." Todoroki's heart flutters in his chest at your noble answer. "That's beautiful Y/N." He states sincerely gazing into your eyes. His eyes continue to hold yours causing a blush to creep across your faces. "Thanks Shoto. I know a lot of the class has cool reasons but mine...I don't know." He puts his hand on your thigh beneath the table. "Your reason shows the fact that although we did not choose this life we are here, and powerful. Quirks come with responsibility." His tone becomes a bit dark at the end and you tilt your head to the side a bit. "Todoroki are you okay?" You ask anxiety kicking up a notch seeing his eyes go distant. They only did it for a moment and he is back to his normal self. "Yeah, just really inspired by you." Your smile is as bright as the sun at noon so you attempt hiding behind your hair while you speak. "That made me feel really good. Thank you Shoto." He smiles and leans a bit closer to you and tucks your hair slowly behind your ear. "Thank you." His lips fall softly against yours and in your complete shock you freeze...again. Soon though you kiss him back something Bakugo hadn't given you the chance to do. Your lips are locked for a couple of minutes, but to you and Todoroki it felt like far too little time. You pull away from each other, hearts thumping in your throats. "Holy shit." You say coming back to reality. 'My turn to run I guess!' Your mind narrates and you watch as your anxiety takes over your body. "Uh I just um...remembered I have to...go train with Aizawa. Yea he wasn't happy to hear about my losing control in the gym. So yea I gotta blast but um see you in the morning!" You practically run out of the UA dorms barefoot and completely unsure of what to do you just keep walking.
