Chapter 3

You slam into a wall just outside the locker rooms hoping you had a moment to breathe before the rest of the class arrived. Unwelcome tears fall silently down your cheeks and you think to yourself, 'Why?! Why did he have to be so damn mean? What have I done? Did I not treat him correctly did I say the wrong thing did I..." You're spiraling causes you to lose control of your quirk again and zaps of lightning pulse from your hands into the air. Your panic attack really hits a high when your lightning causes the lights in the gym a shortage plunging you in darkness. "What the hell?!" You flinch as Bakugo's angry voice seeps into your bones. Then he sees you curling in on yourself with a slight purple voltage still pulsing around your hands, but you're not here anymore...you lie somewhere in the past.

—--flashback to childhood (About 8)

Your mom is trying to leave you for work with your tutor but you hold tight to her leg. You can smell the other woman's cologne, and it burns your nose making your tummy flip. "Nemuri, she'll be okay." The woman says to your mother then turns her head a sickly sweet smile spreading across her face.

"Y/N?!" Bakugo shakes you, his face full of worry. You blink up at the boy who has caused you so much pain the last few days...all the lies. Yet you felt like you could trust him here. The eyes that looked back at you now are the same as when you were hiking and fell. "She's gone now right?" You whimper desperately and Bakugo not knowing how to respond to this simply states, "There's no one but us right now." Your breathing slowly begins to even out and you pull yourself away from him. "Please go away..." the request breaks Bakugo's heart but before he can try and explain Iida and the rest of the class burst through the door. His mask immediately goes up. "Ya know what? Fine! I'll go away I just had to make sure you weren't dead and have it blamed on me!" With that he stomps away leaving you even more confused than before the panic attack. Momo helps you up and Mina starts screaming at Bakugo seeing your friends take your side does make you loved, but you hate being the cause of fights. "It's fine..." You mumble walking slowly into the locker rooms with your friends trailing behind you. "Y/N you have to tell us what the hell's goin' on!" Mina huffs as she stomps into the room. "Uh...Bakugo and I kinda were dating all summer but since the moment I got here he's been mean and it's triggered a lot and i don't know what I did wrong but think he hates me, and I definitely hate me o there's that and-" Mina hugs you tight than Uraraka joins and Momo as well. "I'm so sorry girl!" Ochako exclaims earnestly. "I think I know what you need Y/N!" Mina says pushing you away as if to inspect you like Scar would a mouse in the Lion King. "Shopping. We will get you looking and feelin good in no time! Screw that pomeranian." You giggle at her little insult and nod. "Okay I'm all yours but only if we all go." Mina squeals and Tsu walks in having completely missed the plans she's super confused by your smile. "Hey Tsu, we're going out this weekend!" Ochako calls to her friend with a giggle.

Finally the last bell rings on Friday signaling you all can leave. You and the girls pack up and agree to meet at the entryway of the dorms thirty minutes after you get there. You're running through the hallway excited to get some makeup on and go out. Both of which you haven't done since yours and Bakugo's last date, now almost a month ago.

A/N: (The idea here is he kinda started drifting before school started but you had thought he was just extra busy)

Bam! You forgot to look where you were going and slam straight into Todoroki. "Shit! I'm so sorry!" The boy gives you one of those rare half-smiles and it fills your heart with joy. "No prob. Just glad to see you happy." He replies looking deep in your eyes. "How have you been doing? I noticed that you haven't cried since yesterday morning." Your face goes beet red as you process his words. 'Will this boy ever learn what not to talk about?' An awkward chuckle peels itself from your throat, "Uh yea I guess I am doing better. I'm still really confused but it doesn't gut me every five minutes." Todoroki still did not fully know what "it" was but he without fail came to sit with you every time you fell apart. Never forcing himself in, just gliding to you and resting. It had made you two grow quite close talking through some deep rooted quirk trauma and more. "I'm glad you're doing better." He goes to walk away but you reach out. "Ya know you could...come hang out sometimes even if I'm not...ya know upset..." You finally get the words out your anxiety kicking in at full force as Todoroki assesses you with his captivating eyes. "I would enjoy that very much. Thank you." he walks away and you hurry to get ready. Little did you know Bakugo heard the entire exchange having been about to go into his own dorm and he was livid...beneath that anger an abandonment wound oozes with pain.

You and the girls walk in the direction of the mall together all chattering about crushes, missions, and life dreams. Your heart is filled with joy watching your friends express themselves. Even you dressed up for the occasion! Since it was still warm you had opted for a white crop top and jean shorts. Over that was a kimono inspired wrap shirt with your favorite magical anime girl. The eyeshadow packed onto your lids is a soft baby blue with pink accents complimenting the soft outfit really well. Your signature long blue hair in bubble braids that bounce when you walk. "You really look amazing Y/N!" Momo exclaims, smiling down at you. At 5 feet even almost everyone in class is taller than you. Only gross Mineta was beneath you. You buy some new kawaii aesthetic clothes, eat at a cafe and just have a great day. It is around 4:30 when Mina announces that some of the guys from our class are going to meet us for dinner at a park that's showing (your fave movie this year) so you can all watch a movie as a class.

"Are you sure this is okay with you Y/N? If Kirishima comes he is likely to be here..." Momo reluctantly asks. "Yeah I've been wanting to see this for a while, and it'd be so fun to meet up with everyone. We can get pizza and bring it. Maybe they can get drinks?" Mina squeals walking backwards. "Oh my God! That's perfect, I'll text them now!" Her enthusiasm and joyous laugh makes you official on your decision to join in on this. "Besides, maybe Todoroki will come too. That'll distract you" Tsu says booty bumping you with a giggle. "Tsu! We said we'd never talk about that again!" You squeal back at your friend remembering when you explained to them that he's really been helping you, and they all gave you that look. "She's not wrong though!" Mina waves a hand as she talks and all you can think while watching her is, 'how the hell does she not fall texting like that?'
