My Life With Billie Joe Armstrong

Chapter 3

One last try. 

"Mom please, don't leave me with him. Take me with you!" I begged, and she laughed.

"Honey, he won't bite," She said. I had my doubts about that. "Plus it's a work things. No daughters... or Billie's... aloud. So you'll have to put up with him." She went to walk out of the door but stopped. "Oh, and keep an eye on him. He's coming down with something." She said, and then she really left. I turned and walked up the stairs, knowing I couldn't go in the living room because Billie was there. I sat in my room and drew. I heard him coughing and I must admit, I felt kinda bad. I got a text and read it, it was my mom. The message said 'Where are you?' so I replied 'I'm in my room.' It was a few minuets later, I got a text back saying 'Go and check on Billie. NOW.' I sighed and threw my phone on my bed, going into the living room.

I thought he was asleep at first, but as I got closer I saw he had his eyes open. I approached carefully, and he looked up.

"Are you okay?" I asked, and he nodded. "Do you want some water?" He nodded again and I left the room. 

Wow, he didn't even make a stupid joke.

I came back with the glass and handed it to him, and he took a drink and put it down again. I stood next to him carefully. What was I supposed to say?

"Are you hot?" I asked, and he shook his head.

"I'm cold," He said.

He didn't even make the 'yes I'm hot. But I'm not single' joke...

I went upstairs and got a blanket from the cupboard, and came back down into the living room, wrapping the blanket around him.

"Thanks. But you don't have to do this." He said, and I nodded.

"Yes I do." 

"Mom's orders, huh?" He asked, and I nodded again. 

"You feel warm," I said, as I felt his head. I took his temperature. "That's a high temperature. It's too high. I'm gonna tell Mom to come home." I texted her and he just looked at me. 

"Even if you were forced, thanks for taking care of me." He said. 

"Yeah, well don't get used to it." I said, and I stood up.

"Had enough of being nice, have we?" He asked.

"Yep." I replied as I walked back upstairs.
