I was finally aloud back to school. Billie helped me pack my bag and then he asked Mike to drive me since Tre and Billie had to work on some drum stuff. So Mike took my bag like a gentleman and helped me into the car. He laughed as they started playing Green Day on the radio.
"Who is this song by? It's familiar." He joked. I laughed and played along.
"I have no idea." He chuckled and then shook his head, smiling.
"Man, why are they playing Dookie?" He tapped his fingers along to the beat and did his vocals for each song.
"The lyrics sound really angry." I observed.
"Yeah, well Billie was really angry." Mike replied. "Dookie was a lyrical nightmare." I laughed and stared out the window.
There was that boy from my school, Frank. We had been flirting, nothing serious, but he had asked me out on Friday. I couldn't tell Billie, he'd flip his lid.
I sighed as I stared at Frank. He was really cute.
Mike sighed behind me, copying me accurately. I turned to him and he raised an eye brow, mentally asking what was wrong, it seemed.
"It's nothing." I said. His eyes widened.
"Can you read minds?" He asked. I giggled and tapped him on the forehead.
"Only yours," I said, and then I lowered my voice to an almost growl. "It's easy to get into your head." I smirked. He blinked and moved away slightly.
"Your dad does that. It's weird. Stop it." I laughed and patted his arm to show I was joking. "So c'mon. What's up." I shook my head.
"I can't tell you." I said. He looked worried and bit his lip. I decided to give him peace of mind. "It's nothing serious, I promise." I nodded, confirming.
"Then tell me." He said, serious.
"It's a boy." I admitted.
His face broke out in a huge smile as he loudly said 'OOOOOOH.' I hit him on the arm and he laughed.
"What's his name? Location? Contact details? Y'know, number? Address? Y'know, current relationship status?" Mike said, doing a perfect expression of Billie Joe. I laughed way too much.
"How do you do that?!" I laughed.
"I have many voices and sound effects. " He said, miming a gun with his finger and making a game shoot effect. I turned serious.
"Promise you won't tell." I said.
"Shit. I mean, shoot. You're asking me to keep a secret? From Billie?" He asked, titling his head to the side in an almost cute way.
I nodded and bit my lip.
"I'll try," He offered as he pulled up at the drearily grey school and handed me my bag. "Be good." He smiled, before putting on sunglasses and driving off, leaving me to go back to that hell-hole they call a school.
*****************************
I had settled into my seat when a posh woman dressed in a suit had knocked on the door.
"Natalie Armstrong, please?" I gathered my stuff and followed her down the bleak hallways.
What had I done now.
I got to the office and was surprised to see Billie Joe, pacing. I walked over nervously and he bent down to my height, and looked into my eyes.
"Billie, what is it? What happened?" I asked, and he took a deep breath.
"It's Mike." I felt a shiver run down my spine as I answered.
"What? What happened?!" He bit his thumb nail and pushed me down the hallway to the car park, into the car.
"We don't know what happened. He had some kind of... Thing. He'll explain it better." Billie turned the key and it was then I noticed Tré was here, quiet for once, in the back of the car.
I crossed my fingers and counted to 11, 11 times. This was a tactic I had used since I could count, I believed it was good luck. Billie noticed me counting, because he looked at me worriedly but I didn't care, I needed to help Mike.
*a/n Yay for updates! I'm getting this story running again, fuck yeah.
