The 5 months time.

WHACK

The book finally dropped from her hand as she stopped. All of her fingers were trembling and she huffed out a shallow breath.

Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out.

THUD

Slowly Eunjoo pulled in her legs and hugged them tightly. Luckily she was wearing a long skirt, that would help her to lessen the cold. Her teeth are gnawing on the dried lips, chewing them until they bled. It's a habit now, she wouldn't even need to worry if it's a sign of an illness.

It's a whole normal thing to her.

If it wasn't for her grandmother's cat at home, Eunjoo would have jumped off the building instantly. This abandoned building had been witnessing a little bit too much of her vulnerable times, she somehow felt embarrassed to keep on coming back here every day after work.
Hitting her head with the thick book she once bought.

Eunjoo felt daft, that was why she kept on whacking it on her head.

A string of happy laughter caught her attention as she took a peek from the building's rooftop. Eunjoo watched a bunch of coworkers walking together, chit chatting. Perhaps they just had finished their little hang-out after work. How nice.

Another loud shrieking surprised her. Across the building, she could see a father scolding his son. From his little window, Eunjoo witnessed the old man hit the back of his son's head multiple times. She snickered, observing how the boy's face stayed emotionless but both his fists rolled tight on the table. Just ready to punch the life out of his parent.

PING

The screen lit up next to her. Glancing at her watch, it said 1547 p.m. Taking her book and shoving it inside the bag, she stood up and stretched. Not forgetting the handphone, she tapped on the screen and read the message sent.
