ch 1

Finney Blake

Gwen taps me on the head. " You fuckface. Wake up."  My arm feels sore and I realize I've been sleeping on my on right arm. I pull the covers off and rub my eyes.

" Come on. Daddy already left and we gotta leave for school."

I groan and trudge towards my closet. Gwen folds her arms and kneel against my bedroom door. " You ok?" she asks. I nod getting out my clothes. I push her out and slam the door.  After I change,  me and Gwen head out to school.

On the way, we hear a commotion in the front yard. Gwen grins and run towards the crowd. 

I sigh and run after her. Turns out its Robin beating the fuck out of a kid. Gwen waves, " You got it, Robin!!!"

I grit my teeth and nudge her arm, " Lets go, Gwen." 

Reluctantly, she agreed and went inside the school. I see Bruce and walk towards him. 

" Hey Fin!"  he says brightly. I see his dimples and for some reason, it makes me smile. " Did you hear? Robin got into another fight!"  

Unlike Robin, Bruce never got into fights.  Bruce was a ladies man so he got all he girls. Robin was a semi-popular boy. 

" Yea, I know." 

Bruce grinned, " You wanna go to  Grab'n go after school?" 

I can see his dimples again. 

"Sure! I have nothing else to do anyways."

" Great! See you at lunch."

Then Bruce left. I walk to my next class, math. 

" Ok kids! Starting today, we'll be sitting with pairs! So pick a partner and join your desks." I just sat there while kids gots up and went to their friends. 

Then a hand slammed on my desk and I flinched. 

I looked up to see Robin smirking. 

" Hey Fin."

I smile nervously, " Hi... Robin."

He sat down right next to me.  

" You wanna be partners?" I ask.

He shrugged and looked up at the board. 

So thats that. Im working with Robin Arrellano for the rest of 10th grade.

During the lesson, Robin tapped me on the shoulder. 

" Hey, I have a question?"

I nod.

" Can you tutor in math? I'll get suspended if I get another F."

I look at him weridly but I sigh and nod.

He grinned, " Thanks Fin."

Now I have this werid feeling in my stomach. 

I cringe and shake my head to get out of the thought.

After the lesson, I head out to lunch. 

I walk into the cafeteria and see Bruce talking with his friends. Not wanting to bother him, I went to find my other friends, Griffin and Billy. 

Griffin is year 9th but he's the principal's favorite so he gets special privileges to sit with us year 10.

" HEY FIN!!!" Griffin shouts excitedly. 

Billy smiles and waves. 

I sit next to them. 

Griffin goes on to chat about stuff until I heard him mention Robin.

" I heard that he got into a fight with THE Vance Hopper."

Billy sneers, " Lemme guess, he ends up in the hospital."

Griffin glares at him, " No! They both ended up unconscious. "

I laugh a little.
