The week that Harry is lecturing is my favorite week ever. Every afternoon I'm sat in the front wearing a new cute outfit for him to feast on. Today it's a pair of vintage, light wash jeans with a few holes, paired with a thin silky white button up blouse that has tiny navy blue polka dots on it. I'm wearing a very small lacy navy bralette underneath that you can see peeks of since I've unbuttoned the top just enough. I'm also wearing some cute black sling back heels that make me look more dressed up than I really am.
Harry is not being discreet in the way he's staring at me either. Neither is fucking Ray. This kid seriously keeps trying to shoot his shot but he's not getting it.
The discussion is pretty good. This Janet chick keeps talking over me, though, and I get the feeling she's doing it on purpose. In fact, the last two days of lecture she's been doing it. Harry had to tell her to let me finish earlier today so I felt some vindication for that. But now, she's just done it again and even has the gall to correct me, as if my analysis was wrong.
She's going on about how the vignettes in Paddy Clarke, ha ha ha are purposely confusing and not clear in their order of a timeline. If anyone's read the book they already know this, but I'll let her finish so she feels good about herself, the dumb bitch.
When she starts talking about how it's more of a tale of his childhood I finally have had enough and I interrupt her, for the first time, in fact, after she's continuously interrupted me for the better part of the last two days, "ACTUALLY, as confusing as the vignettes are, as opposed to chronological chapters, the order in which the book is set is an important detail in..." and then the fucking bitch interrupts me again.
"Mr. Styles! She just interrupted me!" Harry raises his brows at her and smiles a sort of cocky smile that I'm not used to seeing and he responds coolly, "She did interrupt you, just as you've been interrupting her, and quite frequently might I add. I can't say I blame her one bit for interrupting you just now after all you've been putting her though." He glances at me and then back to Janet when she starts to open her big mouth again.
"But you just told me that it's not allowed so why can she do it and I can't?" She is crossing her arms over her chest and pouting like the child she is.
"Because, Ms. Hall, you've repeatedly interrupted her, and only her, over these last couple of days and I've let it slide for the sake of a good discussion but I've lost count of how many times you've interrupted her, while this is her first time interrupting you. I'd say she's fed up and I'm not going to call her out, but please, do continue arguing with me on this matter. I'd love to see what else you can come up with so you look the victim."
He watches Janet as she opens her mouth and then closes it again and then hastily grabs her things and begins to rush out of the lecture hall. Before she gets all the way across the room Harry looks at me with a gentle smile, "Go on, Anna, I'm curious about where you're going with your comment about the order of the vignettes."
I love that she heard him tell me to continue. I love that she's running out with her tail between her legs. I'm fair and I'm kind when it comes to discussions like this but Janet has pushed my buttons and now I don't care how rude I am to her anymore.
The following day Janet doesn't show up. I was kind of hoping to see her there and rub it in her face about how I'm the good girl who the teacher likes and she's the annoying, dumb one. But oh well. I don't get to be childish and petty like I'd hoped.
Instead, I have to worry about Ray. He's stepped his game up today. He won't fucking shut up. He keeps leaning in to speak to me. I had just about had it when he commented on my clothes (I'm wearing a silky, black pleated skirt that's just below knee length, classic checkered slip-on vans, and an old vintage looking (I bought it new) rolling stones t-shirt that's quite tight. Oh, and no bra. And red lipstick. He says he likes my shirt. But he keeps saying it and I'm about to smack his face off.
