"Pardon the intrusion..he he.." said the boy whom Kirihito introduced as his friend.Kalāra's eyebrows were twitching with a very uncontrollable temper within her mind. She tried to collect herself for Kirihito and asked Mito to go home.
"And what may his name be this friend of yours?" I asked with a fake smile.
"His name is Maru. I found him in the shrubbery ground while I was with Mito-baachan. He is so much fun to be with, Mama!" Kirihito said enthusiastically.
"Is he..?" asked Kalāra gritting her teeth.
"He took me to the waterfall in the north-west. We played in the water. He even taught me how to walk on water. Ne ne, did you know that he knows ninjutsu?" Kirihito said animatedly.
"No I didn't." Kalāra said silently musing.
"He knows shuriken Jutsu, Kage Bunshin.."and Kirihito explained all the ninjutsu he learned about from Maru to Kalāra. Kalāra sat there on the dining table listening to it all, as if she heard them before. Maru sat there stealing glances at Kalāra. He was then invited for dinner and ate omurice with them. Kirihito enjoyed his omurice and thanked for the dinner.
He started feeling sleepy after eating the last bite and before he could smash his face accidentally on his plate, Kalāra caught his head from the front. She washed his mouth in the basin and took him to his room to bed. She laid him down and covered him with a blanket. She gave him a goodnight kiss and switched off the lights to leave the room.
She went to Suzune's room to find her entering the room through her window. Kalāra stood by the door incredulously to find what her daughter was upto. When Suzune was just about to go to her bed-
"Ahem." Kalāra said.
Suzune turned around in terror to find her mother looking at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, hey Ma..Sorry I was late for dinner. I'm not quite hungry at the moment. You can eat dinner if you'd like." She said
"Where have you been?" Kalāra asked worriedly.
"I was waiting for Hashirama-san to bring Ichiraku's ramen from Konoha. I've never eaten from outside your kitchen before. Thought I'd give it a try.." She said.
"If you wanted ramen from there, you could have told me. I would have brought it. You didn't go there..did you?" Kalāra asked.
"Uh..no. Why, am I not supposed to? I only just heard about it from Hashirama-san." Suzune said scratching her head.
"No..I think it's better if you don't go there without me to guide you. You may not know how to go through the streets without getting lost." Kalāra said
"I'm pretty sure I would know to ask directions before going in there." Suzune said looking doubtfully at her mother.
"Anyway you must be tired. Go to sleep if you're not planning to come downstairs." Kalāra said.
"Cool. I'll be crashing the bed. Night." And Suzune prepared herself to go to bed before she brushed her teeth in the upstairs bathroom and went to sleep.
Kalāra went out of her room and stood in the verandah, bringing out a deep exhale.
"Finally. Two brats sleeping peacefully in their rooms. Now let me go and do the dishes." Kalāra went downstairs into the kitchen. She started cleaning all the plates one by one. After cleaning the last utensils she went out into the dining room which was for some reason dark. The lights of the drawing room, and the stairs were switched off.
Kalāra took her beloved black frying pan with her as she walked around the dining table. She looked underneath the table to see if anyone was there. She walked into the drawing room, around the table. She looked outside the house. She couldn't find anyone anywhere. As she saw that there was no one there she went back to the dining room. She stood leaning back towards the wall adjacent to the shelf of plates.
Until..
"Ow!" Kalāra exclaimed loudly as someone bit her on one of her chests.
