VI - Inconvenient Dinner

Knock knock.

"Nerissa?"

Kaizo stands in front of Nerissa's room, dressed up and ready to join the dinner with the King. He planned to join it alongside her. However, news came to him that she was not prepared. Wondering what to her long, he decided to help her.

"Come in."

The maid opens the big door for him and bows as he penetrates the room. He could see a few maids helping her dress. While Nerissa is about to put on her earring, she quickly spots Kaizo in her mirror. She twists to one side to take a glance at him. He wore a dark charcoal grey suit with a white shirt and dark tie underneath. A sophisticated color choice that suits a dinner event. Looking at him wearing that makes him a dashing man.

Kaizo spots her wearing a silver dress beautifully crafted from satin and fully lined for seamless wear. It features an elegant cowl back, flattering capped sleeves, and a chic boat neckline. Revealing her hourglass figure and her back skin. The floor-length gown exudes timeless glamour and is guaranteed to turn heads, paired with silver heels and hexagon-shaped diamond earrings. The earrings heighten the brilliance of the center stone in its contemporary design. Hair slightly curled at the tip and dark red lipstick. Her look in his eyes made him enormously fascinated.

"Everyone out," Nerissa demands privacy.

The maid bows at the command and walks to the door, leaving the two alone. Nerissa continued putting on her earrings, and she could see Kaizo coming closer to her from her mirror. Looking at how beautiful she looks from behind, he places his hands on her shoulder and stares into her eyes from the reflection. Her eyes accidentally met his crimson-red eyes, and she felt a slight heartbeat in her chest.

"Could you zip the dress for me?" She asks him.

Kaizo gladly makes her wish come true, and his finger pulls the zipper to the top. After that, he places his hand on her wrist, admiring her body. His eyes return to admire Nerissa's look after her earrings are intact.

He moves his head closer to her ears, still gazing at her eyes, and whispers, "You look incredible."

Nerissa notices his eyes staring at her for a while, "You shouldn't stare."

"Well, you shouldn't look like that." He comments as his hands hug her waist.

His response made her chuckle and touch his hands, "It suits you. The dark grey suit."

"You think?" He smirks.

Nerissa turns to see Kaizo's handsome face, and her lips move closer to his ear, "You look dashing with it."

"Thank you, Nerry." He speaks as his lips kiss her dark red lips.

They return to gaze at the mirror, savoring their private time. Nerissa is sure the other family members are waiting patiently in the dining room. She knew that. Yet, at the same time, she doesn't want to join them. She knew she needed to ask her father about the nightmares she had. But, about her relationship, she is not sure about it.

"I'm anxious."

"What for?" Kaizo raises his eyebrow.

"Well, I planned to discuss the nightmares I had. That's my purpose." Nerissa says, "But, concerning our relationship, I'm anxious whether my Papa would accept us."

He understands her words very well and expresses, "You know? I do, too. I'm anxious, slightly." He adds, "However, I know one thing for sure. I love you, and I'm glad to be with you. And I know you feel the same, too. He'll understand that."

"But, what if he won't?"

"He will," Kaizo assures, "Trust me."

Kaizo stares at her bare back and spots her naked nape. His lips sneak to kiss it, and her reaction is what he hoped. She liked it. They looked at themselves one last time to rest assured.
