"Mnh..."
The princess slowly opens her eyelids. The first things she sees are the chandelier and her chambers. Her mind is still processing her surroundings and concludes that right now is in her bedroom. She does feel slightly dizzy due to a long slumber. How long did Nerissa go unconscious? She had no idea.
But, the girl sensed warmth on her left hand, and her head twisted to one side to see what it was. A smile and a soft chuckle from her lips, knowing that Kaizo stayed beside her. It seems he waited for her to wake up so long that he could not help but fall asleep. Her eyes admire the sight of him. Who would ever know that the so-called Legendary Space Rebel and the most feared man in the galaxy could be this adorable yet handsome when he sleeps?
His eyes slowly open, and he realizes, "Nerissa? You're awake."
"No wonder why I felt some warmth in my dreams." She smiles, and her fingers caress his face.
"You've finally awake!" Kaizo hops on her bed and hugs her in relief.
Nerissa returns his hug and kisses his cheeks, "Thank you for being here, Kaizo."
Kaizo kisses her warm hand and keeps it close to his heart, "How are you feeling right now?"
"I'm alright, Kaizo." She smiles, "Dizzy, but alright."
"I should tell Neil about this."
When Kaizo was about to stand up from her bed, he suddenly detected a tug on his wrist. He turned around and sighted Nerissa get up and stop him.
"Don't."
"Why?"
Nerissa swallows her saliva, "Let's just stay here for now. We haven't talked for a while."
Kaizo sighs and accepts her wish, "Alright." Then, he sits comfortably on her bed, "Wanna talk about it?"
She cleared her throat, "First of all, how long was I out?"
"Three days." He answers.
"Gods..." She frowns, "I must have been all over the news headline. Annoying."
"Lady Freya and your brother helped you out a lot," Kaizo tells her.
Nerissa replies, "I figured. Everyone is troubled because of me, including you. I owe you an apology."
"Why bother?" He smiles, "I am your lover, so I have done what I needed to do." Then his fingers play with her warm hand, "So, was it a vision?"
"I guess, yeah." She then said, "At first, I saw a stone throne. A big stone throne. The same throne appeared in my previous vision before I disappeared. But nobody sits on it, and I guess it belongs to someone else. I didn't even dare to touch it. Everything was dark and red, and there was some blood moon. I still remember all those eerie noises. Yet, I felt energized, and I don't know, powerful. Also, I've heard echoes saying everything would be alright and someone was here for me. Those words kept going on and on."
Kaizo thought for a moment, "Our voices reached her."
"Next thing was I suddenly drowned in a sea of blood. It was so cold, and I was alone. It felt like I was getting sucked deeper into the darkness. I wanted to swim back to the surface but couldn't reach it as if it was getting further away. The warmth and light from my hands was the only thing that soothed me. And I sensed someone else was accompanying, but neither you nor Neil. His presence feels different. He did not harm me in any way. Back then, I thought, how long will I stay here? How are the others, and what will happen to the others if I'm gone? Am I going to spend one year here, as Neil did? Perhaps five years? Decades? A century?"
