Nathan smirked as he looked down at his phone. The schizo guy in his favorite forum was having a breakdown again, and was sending legitimately some of the funniest fucking memes Nathan had ever seen, completely deranged and very awful, but for him, that just made em better. He slid his phone back into his pocket, and adjusted his visor, flashing a grin at the cute nonbinary dude to his left making a burger. "Sooo, what's the verdict vert?" The kid rolled their eyes. "Yes nate, you know I'll make you a couple, but you really owe me some extra next time, Keran will have my ass on a platter if he finds out" Nathan laughs, a bit louder than he should. "Oh c'mon, he's a pushover, and we all know you kiss his ass more than anyone else" vert blushed and shot him an irritable look as he finished the third burger, and threw all three at him in quick succession, Nathan barely catching them and bagging em, scrawling his name hastily on the bag, his mouth already watering at the scent. His coworkers always asked him how he still choked down the burgers here after his third year working here, much less enjoyed them, but he knew as little as they did. Why does anyone like anything? And more importantly, who cares. It's plenty of absolutely delicious calories. "Truly finger lickin good, thanks again vert!" He laughed and walked back to the break room, grabbing his jacket. He passed his manager in his office, the tall chubby man shouting after him "when are you gonna become a manager nate?" "When managers get a day off, keran!" He chuckled and clocked out, then slid out the door. He dug his hand into the takeout bag and drooled a bit more as he unwrapped a burger with one hand "mmm, nummy" he chuckled and dug in as he walked home, letting his wrappers go on the city street. Hell, this whole city was litter in earth's eyes, why should another wrapper or three matter.
