Shavronne ate his breakfast, a simple plate of toast and eggs, as Cody briefed him. "Firstly, today we will have my brother go on a news segment and talk about your situation, and later tomorrow, Astrid and yourself will be going on... the good news is we've looked into the claims, and there isn't any evidence strong enough to actually even bring a case to court. Nonetheless, as I'm sure you understand, it's key that we get ahead of this." Shavronne felt his neck muscles twitch in his upset state. "It doesn't seem right." Cody looked up at him from his tablet "Shavronne... I know you want to be honest, that you want people to hear the truth, but the fact is they don't want a story of redemption. They want a story of secret corruption and hypocrisy. Not to mention, if you came out and told the truth, that would be more than enough to take you to court over. And they would win." Shavronne sighed, finishing his food and rubbing a hand over his face. Astrid had to go run some errand she wouldn't tell him was about, and he was left trying to pick up the pieces alone for the time being. But he owed her some time off from all this, gods knew. He gathered his clothes and began to get dressed. "Shavronne..." He snapped a bit irritably "I know. I'm not going to say anything to put us in jeopardy." Cody nodded. "Alright. The last thing I needed to talk to you about is a big one. Der Dämon, aeris. A spy of ours, frey, found her for a time, and her last report stated she has a child. A living one." Shavronne froze. "Whose?" Cody shook his head. "We couldn't verify, but it appeared to be her own and possibly..." He hesitated before continuing. "Everests." It made sense, when they'd rescued everest, she'd been in the middle of violating the man... but it truly was an even worse turn of events. "And where are they now? Or where were they last?" "A little place in the mountains of Norway. But Frey had to escape before she could find much more out, including where they left to. They're in the company of raguel still, who seems to grow stronger every day thanks to the sacrifices from the remaining members of their cult. Related to that..." Shavronne felt his heart sinking, could there be any end to this bad news? "Nathan finally made an appearance again. Not only is he alive, he's been training... and growing into an ascendant. He claimed control of the more loosely organized members of the cult, those skeptical of raguel and aeris, in a livestream where he murdered the head of the c.a.c." Shavronne cursed under his breath. "Is there any other news." He said, the words sounding cold and robotic. It was hard not to think that he deserved this, that things had gone far better than deserved in the last few years. "Astrid's father is going to be released in two weeks." Shavronne chewed his cheek. Of course. He'd forgotten about the rapidly upcoming date. "Don't tell my wife, I'll tell her myself. You filed the restraining order already, right?" Cody nodded. "Thank you. Anything else to report?" Cody nodded and reported some minor details on high profile cases for the c.a.r. and then left him, alone with his thoughts. He went to his study, setting a record on the player, and began to do some paperwork till the interview began. Soon, he got a call, his phone buzzing. He flipped it over, seeing it was Astrid, and his heart skipped a beat. He quickly answered. "Hello?" He could hear a sigh of relief from her "shav, I um... I have something to tell you, later tonight... but I really needed to hear your voice" he set aside his papers and swung his chair around to look out onto the balcony "what is it Libelle? Is everything ok?" She hesitated a moment "yeah, everything's OK. Just missed you" He stood up, heading out onto the balcony, the crisp afternoon air had a breeze to it, ruffling his pale white hair. "Is it alright if I ask what your errands were?" "I just had to buy a couple things, that's all... I um... I found something out." He listened patiently. "Well um... I... I'm pregnant..." His heart leapt into his throat "you... what? But..." "I'm sorry I shouldn't have kept it a secret, I just... didn't want to worry you anymore and-" "Libelle... this is amazing news!" He heard her take a shaky breath "Are you sure? You don't... you're not upset?" He laughed a little "Upset? How could I be? I'm on my way, just send me your location, alright?" He could practically feel her smile and the soft tears that he was sure he heard in her voice "okay, I sent it! I'll be waiting" he called for Cody and headed into the driveway, struggling to keep the joy and anxiousness down. "What's going on Shavronne? Is everything ok?" He chewed his cheek a bit "everything... is wonderful Cody. I'm going to be a father."
