Chapter Nineteen

"Zayn wait!" I shouted after the figure walking out of the classroom at a fast pace, ignoring my every call. "Please Zayn!" I called again, yet he made no attempt at turning to face me. I sighed stopping in my tracks as Harry joined my side with Niall with questioning expressions. "I'm trying to stop this." I admitted. Yet at the same time I was lying. If they knew what Zayn said to me and hour and a half before they would of known why I was so desperate for his attention.

"As I said," Harry placed his hands on my shoulders, staring deep into my eyes with his own. "leave it to me." He gave me a curious look, not letting my eyes wander for a second.

"Yeah. Okay. Fine." I shrugged giving in. He exchanged a glance of approval with Niall before leading me out the classroom. I held a ring binder close to my chest, gripping the rim of the plastic case almost denting my skin from how deep in thought i truly was. Zayn wasn't lying when he said he had feelings for me. I though he was drunk, yet his actions many minutes ago proved me wrong. The look in his eyes gave me the approval to believe such a guy who intimidates the innocent, destroys the even closest to perfect objects and gives off the impression he's the true definition of trouble. It was just the sincerity in his tone that convinced me this wasn't a game. This was real life. This was it.

We can all say we've had dreams, imaginative scenarios and almost fairy tale like predictions that one day I-you-a friend will have two boys or girls literally fighting each other for you or the other being. It's something neither of us can deny. We've all had a moment of hope that the dominant violent fight for love would always end in your true love winning for you especially. And that right there is your prince charming. As if you're the princes locked up in a tower, awaiting that special person to rescue you and carry you into the sunset and live happily ever after.

But never did I think the possibilities and modern weapons I feared either of them carried for protection would scare my to my soul, knowing anything could happen to any of them at any moment with any consequence you're either sad or relieved about. I was beginning to fear myself for what my mind was processing, considering to approach the guy who is practically certain on winning me.

But why should I be such a prize to such a person?

After all he's done. All he's said. Why am I even feeling a hint of sympathy for him?"Hello? Earth to Orla?" Niall waved a hand in front of my face laughing instinctively.

"Huh?" I jumped glancing at my two friends on either side of me, staring at my obvious surprised expression of lack of attention to my surroundings.

"Are you coming on that Geography trip to L.A next month?" Niall asked raising his eyebrows.

"Erm..yeah, sure." I nodded after my moment of hesitation while trying to mentally figure out what trip he was in fact talking about.

"Wicked! This will be awesome!" He clapped his hands together, rubbing his palms in excitement.

"Yeah.."I mumbled focusing my attention back to the laminate floor my feel were dragging on, no energy feeling existent in my numb body unable to forget Zayn Malik's words.

"Hey, what's up?" Harry whispered in my ear as Niall turned his attention to his phone.

"Nothing." I forced a smile and a spring in my step, my cheeks aching at the effort i had to put in. Harry gave me a knowing look, seeing straight through my grin. I decided to tell him one of the reasons. "It's that time of the month.." I whispered and his faced dropped into a smirk, nodding in understanding.

"Well, if you need anything tell me." He nudged my arm playfully.

"Thanks." I felt my cheeks redden slightly at his gesture. I wonder what he would have said if i told him the other part to my obvious misery,
My true feelings.
The truth.
