Chapter 1

Rose's POV:

"ROSE RIBERO, YOU BETTER GET YOUR SLEEPY ASS UP RIGHT NOW BEFORE I TAKE OFF MY SANDAL!" screamed my grandma. My eyes shot open and I scrambled out of bed. This led to me slipping on my blanket and falling hard on the ground. What a great way to start the morning, better than grandma's sandal at least... "WHAT HAPPENED? IS EVERYTHING ALRIGHT UP THERE?" Screamed my grandfather from below the stairs. "Yea, everything is alright, i just fell down..." I replied back.

I quickly got up and went into the washroom to freshen up. My hair was a mess and looked more like a bird's nest so I decided to brush it first. After going through 5 minutes of suffering and trying to untangle and brush my hair, I finally did it. I quickly brushed my teeth and decided to check my phone while doing so.

"FUCK, I AM GONNA BE LATE!'' I said when I saw the time on my phone. My grandma burst into my room and threw her sandals on me. It ended up hitting the back of my head, "Ow..." I mumbled. "MIND YOUR TONGUE YOUNG LADY! THAT IS NOT THE SORT OF LANGUAGE YOU USE IN THIS HOUSEHOLD!" My grandma screamed at me, while I rubbed the back of my head.

I quickly grabbed some new pairs of clothes and ran into the shower. I took a quick shower and changed into fresh clothes. I grabbed my bag and ran downstairs.

"Rose, eat your breakfast and go!" ordered my grandfather. I grabbed a piece of toast and hurriedly put my shoes on, " Can't do that, grandpa. I am already late," I said. I said goodbye to my grandparents and ran to my cycle. I kept my bag in the basket and hopped on to my cycle, paddling as fast as I could trying to reach the bus stop where I was supposed to meet Kenzie.

God she is gonna be so mad at me! I was already 5 minutes late and it takes me at least 10 minutes to reach there! I finally reached there, drenched in sweat. "Oh, you're here! And I thought you'll not show up on the first day of our new school year. Honestly Rose, you need to keep an alarm if you aren't able to wake up on your own. You can't keep coming late for your entire life!" Scolded Kenzie.

"Ughhh! Kenzie, darling, you are awesome, but I do not want to hear your lectures right now! Can we just go already? We won't be that late if we leave now, you know." "Rose... don't get mad at me, alright? But I lied to you about the time..." Kenzie replied back in a guilty voice. "WHAT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU LIED TO ME ABOUT THE TIME?" I yelled. "Listen, I am sorry, alright? But I had to lie to you so that you could come early! I didn't want us to be late on the first day of our new year. Now can we stop arguing and get a move on? Or we will definitely be late and you will lose your sleep for absolutely nothing." I sighed but got back on my cycle, waiting for Kenzie to do the same. "Wanna race?'' She asked. I just stared at her with a blank expression on my face before smirking and paddling away. "Hey, that's not fair!" She screamed smiling and trying to catch up, failing to do so. I reached school first and parked my cycle in the cycle stand, waiting for Kenzie to come. She joined me 2 minutes after, panting and drenched in sweat. "That... was cheating!" She said, playfully slapping my shoulder. We both walked into the school building, laughing and talking. We weren't that early so we grabbed our books and went to our class. We both thankfully had the first period together. We walked into class and sat next to each other, talking about the most random things ever and waiting for the teacher to show up.
