Chapter 1

Jennie Kim

I yawned and rolled over on my bed, and looked at the clock.

6:59!!

Oh God.

I'm going to be in so much trouble if I'm late again.
I ran into the bathroom, the blanket clinging on to my leg and looked in the mirror.

I took up the toothbrush, squeezing some toothpaste on it and immediately started brushing my teeth. Finish brushing my teeth, I spat out the colgate in the sink, rinsed my toothbrush and my mouth and quickly untangled the blanket from my leg and stripped from my clothing and hopped into the shower.

Taking a ten minute shower, I looked at the clock and it reads 7:12.

Walking to my closet, I looked at all my clothing and settled on a plain white Tee and a plain jeans.

Putting my hair in a ponytail, I grabbed my purse, car keys and head out the door.

I was only one minute late.

"Morning, Kai." I chirped as I tied the apron around
me.

"Morning, Jennie." my co-worker replied back.

I flipped the sign from 'Close' to 'Open' and started my morning shift.

I served the lady her coffee and she smiled at me.

"Good Evening." I said politetly to the next customer.

It was a lady.

"Caramel Macchiato, Tall. And hurry up, I'm late." She scowled and I wrote it and head to make the coffee.

After I finished making the coffee, I walked back to the front and she paid.

The lady grabbed the coffee from me and I flinched slightly.

She's rude.

It was now lunch time, and I was sipping on my orange drink and eating a burger, with ham, chicken, lettuce and
pickles.

I gave Kai the pickles because they were nasty and she gladly took them.

The breaking of glass was heard and I snapped my neck to the sound and saw two men coming in with guns and they had on masks.

My eyes widened and one of them said, "Hands up and don't move!"

Kai and I and some other employees put our hands up.

"Stand up!" The same guy yelled.

We all complied.

They both continued to shoot glasses and stuffs and I yelped as a glass behind me broke.

"SHUT IT!" The guy that does the talking said

I left the bar with a cigar in my hand. I took a puff from it.

I continued walking until I reached a Starbucks, where I
heard some commotion going on.

I walked in, and saw two men shooting glasses, with the employees holding up their hands.

Robbery.

Something I despise.

Luckily, I had a pistol on me.

Swiftly, I shot the guy in his knee, and the other in his thigh.

Their attention snapped towards me.

"Get out." I snarled.

The guys nod and wobbled out of the doors.

I turned to the girl who was looking at me in fear and shock, ignoring the others.

"I don't have any money. Please go." Her soft and vulnerable voice whispered.

I smiled softly and my eyes scanned over her body.
