The funeral ended but Bradley still held her pinky. He watched Dani take a deep breath and walked away, letting go of his hand. His head fell.

Everyone was standing in the hanger on the ship.
"Each one of you represents the best of the best. This is a very specific mission. My choice is a reflection of that and nothing more." Maverick said. Dani took a deep breath.
"Choose your two foxtrot teams." Warlock spoke.
"Payback and fanboy. Phoenix and Bob." Dani smiled at Phoenix.
"And your wingmen?" Cyclone said.
"Rooster and Rebel." Maverick said looking at the two. Dani's eyes widened.
"The rest of you will stand by on the carrier for any reserve role that's required." Warlock spoke. "Dismissed."

They where placed in a briefing room. They where told the plan.
"Your target is a clear and present threat. A secret uranium enrichment site under rogue state control.
It's an underground bunker, tucked between these two mountains. Your route of ingress is heavily defended by surface-to-air missiles backed up by fifth-generation fighters. Once your f-18 strike team crosses the border, tomahawk missiles from the USS Leyte Gulf will launch a synchronized strike on the enemy's airfield here. This will knock out their runway. But you'll have to contend with any planes already in the air." Dani stood next to Mave and Rooster. She took a deep breath.
"The moment those tomahawks hit, the enemy will know you're coming. Your time to target will be two minutes and 30 seconds. Any longer than that, and you will be exposed to any aircraft the tomahawks may have missed. This is what you've all been training for. Come home safely."
"Sir!" They yelled.

Maverick stood behind when everyone was leaving.
"Dad?" He turn around to see Dani. "I don't know what to say. I'm.... I'm sorry. I pushed you away and..." she stood tall and straight. "I won't do it again." Maverick pulled his daughter in for a hug.
He pulled away.
" I know." He whispered. "You better kick ass out there." Maverick smiled. Dani smiled and stood in position.
"Sir!" She said.

Dani walked out of the room she walked down the hall. There stood Bradley Bradshaw.
"Hi." He said.
"Hi." Dani stood there. Bradley looked away but brought his eyes
"Im... I'm sorry. I....." he looked down at his feet.
"I get it. I should've never lied to you. It's just that day when you asked me if I knew him... I didn't want you to think of me differently." Dani said walking closer to Bradley. He looked back at her. "I'm sorry." She grabbed his hand. Maverick watched them through the door drown the hall, smiling. Bradley took her hand.
"I missed you." Bradley spoke. Dani smiled bringing her other hand to his face.
"I know. Mitchells make life that much better." She joked. Bradley chuckled.
"Alright whatever ya say 'Bel." Bradley smiled.
"Bradley...I... good luck." Bradley hugged her.

Dani got in the cockpit of the jet. Phoenix walked up to her.
"Rebel? 'Bel? Hey, you with me?" Phoenix said. Dani nodded. Dani looked around with a stoic face almost smiling.  "I don't like that look, 'Bel." Dani looked at Phoenix and smiled.
"It's the only one I got." Dani said.  "Thank you. If I don't see you again, Phoenix, thank you. Thanks for being a friend.
"It's been an honor, Lieutenant." Phoenix hoped down.

"Dagger one, up and ready on catapult one." Maverick said.
"Dagger three, up and ready." Dani said.
"Dagger spare standing by." Hangman said.
"Dagger five, up and ready." Phoenix spoke.
"Dagger four, up and ready." Coyote said.
"Dagger two, up and ready." Rooster said.
They all shot off the ship.

They flew through the air. They weaved through the valley of the hills. Dani was in the middle of both teams.
"Rebel, keep it steady." Maverick said.
"Sir." Dani spoke. 

They noticed Rooster was far behind.
"Come on Rooster! We can't be going this slow." Dani heard Payback.
"Rooster. Come on. Ya gotta catch up." Fanboy said.
"If we don't increase our speed right now, those bandits are gonna be waiting for us when we reach the target." They both said.
"Talk to me, dad." He whispered. He didn't know what to do.
"Come on, kid, you can do it." Maverick whispered.
'Talk to me Dani.' He thought. He though of what she would say.
"Come on." He could hear her whisper in the com.
At the same time Mav and Dani both whispered
"Don't think. Just Do." Then Rooster started going faster, catching up to Dani's jet.
"Jesus, rooster, not that fast!" Payback said.
"That's it, kid, that's it. All right, let's go." Maverick said.
"Damn, rooster, take it easy." Fanboy spoke. Rooster sighed.
"Don't think. Just Do." He whispered to himself.

They continued, till they got to the target. Maverick, Bob, and Phoenix dropped the bomb and flew up. Dani followed. Soon Rooster, Payback, and Fanboy did too. The tomahawks went off. Everyone swerved and turned. Everyone set off their flairs. Maverick got shot down.
"DAD!" Dani yelled.
" 'Bel calm down." Phoenix said. Dani looked around.
"Did anyone see him eject?" Dani asked.
"No. No one saw him eject." She hear somebody say.
She hyperventilated. She couldn't lose him. He was all she had left of her.

She wasn't paying attention and her jet got hit.
"REBEL!" She heard Rooster yell. She hit eject. She got up and looked around. She saw one of the f-18s fly over and shot something before falling. She ran to where it landed.

She saw someone get up. Then she saw the back of the helmet. She dropped her helmet out of shock. She took the last of her energy and tackled Rooster.
"Ahhh!" Rooster yelled when they fell over. He took his helmet off and saw Rebel.
"Dani?" She asked her. She hugged him. He hugged her back. "God you scared the shot out of me." He picked up her head to see her face. "I thought I lost you." He said. She kissed him.

They got up and at the best moment possible Mav showed up.
"Hey Mav." Rooster said. Maverick ran up to Rooster and pushed him over.
"What the hell?" Rooster said. Dani's eyes where wide. Was she next?
"What are you two doing here?" Maverick yelled.
"What am I doing here?" Rooster asked as he got up. "You think I took that missile so you could be down here with me?" Maverick asked. "You should be back on the carrier by now!" He pointed at both Rebel and Rooster.
"I saved your life!" Rooster yelled.
"I saved your life. That's the whole point." Maverick said. "What the hell were you even thinking?" Mav asked.
"You told me not to think!" Rooster yelled. Everyone paused.
"Well, it's good to see you two." Maverick said.
"It's good to see you." Rooster said as he grabbed Rebels hand.
"Dad?" She asked. Maverick looked at her.
"You okay?" He asked her. She nodded. A tear fell from her cheek. Rooster let go of her hand and Rebel ran to Maverick. They hugged.
"I thought I lost my dad today." Dani whispered.
"No they can't take down any Mitchell." Dani looked at her dad. "And they tried to take down two of them." Dani laughed. She walked back to Rooster and took his hand.
"So what's the plan?" Rooster asked.
