To all my fellow zoes, me writing in kreyol isn't 100%. I was born and raised here in the US, but speak it fluently for the older family. I'm sure you guys will understand as you read the conversations between Kennie, her dad and Jiji. (There's translations anyway)

"Ou tè oué yon bágáy.....(You saw something)" I looked at daddy, Jiji gave me a curious look. I looked out the windows of the limo.....the guys and the driver were talking to the other 2 cops. My eyes traveled to the empty area......

I know I'm not fuckin crazy.....!

"Mwen tè dí lí....but.....mwén kwé m-tè oué lí.....(I told him, but....I swear I saw him) Q knows about Louisiana. I'm not proud at the fact that Omari was a coworker and how things embarrassingly turned out......

But I saw him.....! I know I fuckin did!

Daddy and Jiji looked around at the group, Mosi was in Malikah's arms sleep and everyone else was talking about what just happened. Ari leaned closer for a look at her beautiful engagement ring. I'm happy that Kofi was able to propose to her, my good sis was getting too nervous at his possible hesitation. It wasn't that......the man loves the woman and I can understand him wanting to give her time to process a big loss like her best friend.

"Ou tè dí lí non lí, epá vrè....? Mesíer a konnen koman li sanblé....? (You told him his name, right? He knows how he looks like.....?) Ji looked at me and I bit my lips, looking away.

Guests and customers of the restaurant were still being nosy. I mean the lights from the cars were bright and bae told me that this is a very respectable restaurant. I do commend myself from not losing my shit like I did at the restaurant, cuz sis was taking it all the way there. I looked at Jiji when she gently nudged my arm, patiently waiting for my answer. I looked at the group again.....

I didn't wanna sign in English, I don't want nobody gettin suspicious and start thinking up shit on top of what just happened and with this Ardell somewhere around this world roaming free. It may not even had been Omari.....I only thought I saw someone in the distance who favored him.

"No.....li dejá embarrásè pou mwen dí lí sè yon moun mwen tè trávay ave-k. Poukí sá má-p dí lí non á too....? Epí, èpa te ká lí menm anyways....(it's already embarrassing that I said he was a coworker, why am I gonna say his name too? It might not even had been him)" I scoffed and watched the guys shaking hands with the cops.

"Ou oué sa lí tè fé, ou pá kwè lá-p fé lí lá too.....? Sí lí lá! (You saw what he did, you don't think he'll do it here too? That's if he is here!" Jiji snapped, Taymar and the ladies looked at us weird.

"We're good...." I gave them a small smile, yet they ain't look convinced. Kandace and Malikah looked away slowly, I looked at daddy when he caught my attention.

"Palè ave-k lí! Ou pá konnen. Mwen tè dí ou gen mové esprít lá, madame sá gen yon movè esprít sou lí! Dí lí....! (Talk to him! You never know. I told you there's bad spirits here, this woman has a bad spirit on her! Tell him!)" Daddy told me hotly, I peeked at Malikah who was talking to the ladies.....but still watching us. She was still rocking Mosi softly in his arms, the baby was completely gone just like his uncle be.

"Dejá gen pwoblem, pa kité pwoblem víní pí gwo sí ou pa dí ànyen.....ou gen mesier sá, ave-k tí gason sá (It's already problems, don't let problems get bigger because you didn't say nothin. You got him and this lil boy)" Jiji added and they're right.
