The ringing makes it difficult to concentrate. Hinata uses her byakugan to scout the area and is relieved to know that there wasn't any shinobi near. She glances at the other three before turning back to the fight.
Their movements were fast and precise. If it wasn't for Hinatas' superior vision, she would have a harder time keeping track of the two.
Kakashi moves to the side just in time to avoid Itachis kunai. He quickly shifts his kunai towards Itachis stomach. Once it makes contact, Itachi disappears.
Substitution Jutsu
Kakashi doesn't seem surprised and turns to the right. He throws two shurikens in the same direction. Itachi jumped out of the trees and did hand signs for a fireball justu. Kakashi retaliated by creating a mud wall.
The two Justus make contact, and both disappear shortly after. The fire and dirt combined force them to cover their eyes and move back. When she looks again, both are out of sight.
There was a deafening silence in the air. Which was then interrupted by a 'clank!' The noise has them all stiffen, and the two come back in sight. From opposite directions, they lunge at each other.
Kakashi puts his right hand in a fist and aims it toward Itachis's face. Itachi dodges it and moves his hand toward Kakashis neck in a way that looks like he's intending to choke him.
There's a sudden noise, almost like a zipper, but smoother and higher in sound. There was a wire string in each of Kakashis' hands, and the noise must've been when he yanked them.
At the other end was a shuriken that connected the strings. The only thing in the way from the kunai and Kakashi was Itachi, more specifically, his back.
Because of the way the strings were placed, it was guaranteed to stab Itachi. In the back ironically.
So when Itachis hand wrapped around Kakashi's neck, the Shuriken hit him. Itachi disappeared into a poof of smoke. 'A clone,' Hinata thinks.
Kakashi makes hand signs she can't make out and goes underground.
The longer the fight drags on, the more nervous she gets. Both parties are getting restless, and both are becoming impatient. Its felt throughout the entire group, but they do nothing, fearing that getting involved will only make things worse. HInata wants to help but is aware that she won't be much help in this scenario.
It's frustrating, but. in a way, relieving. The thought makes her feel like a coward.
They were gone again and then appeared again. Naruto, always reckless and brave, decides to join the fight he has a fully charged rasengan and perfectly times it to hit itachi. Kakashi moves out of its impact but not before throwing a couple more shuriken with strings in a way that would wrap around the older Uchiha.
Naruto channels chakra into his feet and launches himself towards Itachi. He leaves two small craters where his feet were. The distance quickly closes between the two. Then, a loud bang followed by a big poof of smoke, which blocked any view of the two.
Hinata zeroes in on the smoke, trying to locate Narutos chakra. When she finds it, she lets out a breath of relief, then turns towards Sakura, giving her a slight nod of reassurance. The pink-haired kunoichi gives her a soft smile in return.
The Hyuga focuses on searches for any sign of the other chakra signature, but it's nowhere to be found. By this point the smoke has settled, the four of them head towards Naruto, and they find him standing, looking down confused. Hinata follows his gaze and frowns.
Itachis body is white and unmoving. The longer she looks at it, the more she finds wrong about it. His skin is extremely pale. It's impossible for his body to be that pale unless he's been dead for an extensive amount of time.
