Chapter 4

Truth or Drink- Maya's POV

Normally I would be at home laying down reading or doing schoolwork to pass my time and completely unbothered by what my friends were doing at their hangout.

BUT today, I am going to the "hang out" at Treys house because of pure curiosity. I have heard plenty about hanging out at Trey's even though I have never attended. Imani is normally always here because it's her boyfriend's function. She's a supportive girlfriend.

A hangout at treys house mainly consists of drugs and drinking with his closes friends and our friends. I don't approve of underage drinking and smoking but I can't stop my friends from doing what they want to do.

I've never met Trey's parents now that I've come to think about it. I know he has some uncles and aunts that come and support him at the games often. But I've never heard him discuss his parents. He has these hangouts a lot so I'm guessing they aren't at home that often.

Normally, Trey only "hangs out" with his close friends like Kordell, Jeremy, and Arthur. The hangout is another reason for Destiny to come and see Kordell.

Kordell and Destiny dated when we were in 10th grade for some time. They ended up breaking up because Destiny cheated on him. Kordell was very heartbroken after she cheated on him. He didn't speak to anyone in our friend group for weeks until he could get use to seeing her face.

Destiny took the breakup a lot better. She was getting called names by a lot of the girls at school, but eventually she stopped worrying about what they had to say. She has tried to rekindle things with Kordell but he does not talk to her unless he has to.

Izaak must be a really cool guy if Trey is willing to hang out with him. He just got here in August according to Destiny.

I'm just coming because I would like to be nosey and see what goes on at these little thingies for myself. I would be lying if I didn't say seeing Izaak outside of school would be fun as well.

I know I just met him today, but I can see us becoming good friends. Plus, the run in with him at the gym proves there may be something else brewing. As Destiny and I make our way into the house, I instantly smell the weed just buzzing off the walls.

"Ayo, Destiny glad you could make it." Trey is standing up in the kitchen next to Imani. He looks at me surprised but excited as well.

"Maya??! I must be high as hell cause I see Maya," he said and inhales a puff from his blunt.

"No, you are not." Destiny says and walks in taking the blunt from his hands and smokes from it.

"Maya is hanging out with us today because she came over my house to help me with schoolwork." Destiny adds and then shoots me a wink when Trey wasn't looking. She hands him back his blunt.

As bestfriends we have each other's back. Nobody has to know the reals reason that I'm here. Plus we did work on some schoolwork at Destiny's place before we left to come to the hang out.

"Ight," Trey says not caring that Destiny just took his blunt. He continues " Well shit Imani I didn't know all your girls would be over today I would've prepared something for us to do." he says obviously being high. He kissed Imani on the cheek.

"Want some?" He asks Imani with the blunt in his hand closer to her.

"No, I'm fine." Imani says shaking her head and moving his hand back to him.

I briefly look away from the couple and that's when I notice him sitting on the couch.

He's sitting on the couch in our school logos sweatshirt and sweatpants. He is smoking while listening to music with his AirPods. I wonder if he even notices that I'm here.
