Love is a complex thing in the world. Some say it's simple that everyone experiences it in their lifetime. They can experience it once or several times while they walk in this place called Earth. But what is exactly love? Is love from the brain or the heart? Some say it doesn't even exist, that it's just a chemical reaction happening in your body.

That's what Kendall Rowan thinks as he glance over at his girlfriend, Daisy. They've been dating since the end of September, specifically September 30th. Daisy is his first girlfriend, he's not even allowed to date so their relationship is a bit of a secret. His eyes travelled from her blonde hair to her upturned nose then to her cupid bow lips that seemed to be like a glazed donut. She is what some would call "perfection". Even in Kendall's eyes she was perfect.

She's perfect alright but Kendall doesn't believe in love. He sighs quietly, looking at his blank paper. He doesn't believe in love because he's never been in love with anyone. He likes Daisy but he doesn't think, well he knows he's not willing to die for her kind of thing. She's a great girl who is patient with him exploring this field. She's aware that Kendall is new to dating but she doesn't know how he really feels. Kendall tries to hide it by flashing her a smile and the occasional"I love yous".

Is he trash for this? Maybe. He doesn't quite understand his feelings. He's willing to kiss her, hold hands and hug her, maybe do more. But he's able to count how many times they've kissed which is only four times and it's already January. He likes her a lot, like a bunch and she makes his day when she sends him a good morning text but something feels weird. He doesn't want to think that he's just dating her for the experience.

Kendall jolted when he felt something tap his foot from underneath the table. He should be used to this by now but he still gets startled by it. He looks at Liam, who was smiling like a dork. Kendall slightly kicks Liam's foot off his playfully, earning a silent chuckle from Liam.

Kendall met Liam in this very classroom, it was also a week after he and Daisy begun dating. He remembered thinking how good looking the guy was. Now he just sees him as a dork who clings onto him. For some unknown reason that Kendall doesn't know, Liam seems to have attached himself onto Kendall ever since the first day he got here. Maybe it was the fact that Mrs. Simb put Liam at Kendall and Daisy's table. Kendall wanted to chuckle at the thought of the giant who seemed to be like a little brother to him. They've grown close over the months but it seems like Daisy doesn't like him very much.

Kendall recalls Daisy was excited to have a new student but after a month of knowing Liam she's been avoiding Kendall from meeting Liam, and Kendall doesn't know why or what to make out of it. Except Daisy can't keep Kendall from seeing him in the classroom.

Kendall took another glance at his girlfriend who seems like paying attention to Mrs. Simb's lecture about agriculture. If Kendall was being honest he wasn't paying attention. Daisy seemed focus but Kendall knows she's just focused on trying to get her vape working as he sees her hand moving underneath the table.

Kendall never have seen a vape until they started dating. It was the first time he saw one but Daisy didn't force him to try it either. He doesn't particularly likes vape or cigarettes since it reminds him of his dad but it's not like he can stop Daisy from doing what she wants so he hasn't touched on the subject.

Kendall took a look at his phone to check the time. His heart quickened at the time, he wasn't ready to go home. He dreaded going home, and this was the last class of the day. But it has to happen as the minute went by the bell eventually rang signaling for students to go home as they stood up and grabbed their bags. The only ones left were Kendall, Daisy and Liam who was busy putting their stuffs back in their bags.

"Hey, Kenny." Kendall turns to Daisy who looked ready to go. "I'll be home late today. I have cheerleading practice."

"Sure, it's fine. I know you do anyways." Kendall chucked at his girlfriend. Daisy smiled at him before leaving the room. Now it was only him and Liam. If Kendall can describe their relationship it would be close to becoming best friends.

"Kendi, you look kinda sour." Kendall took a step back when Liam put his face close to his. The nickname didn't go unnoticed either. He's the only one who calls him "Kendi". All the others call him "Kenny" or "Ken" or even "Dally". But Liam calls him like he's a Candy.

"It's just that I wanted to stay at school for awhile but I have to pick up my sister and brother." Kendall explains in one breath not exactly sure why he feels restless. His heart quickened but not in a bad way.

Liam slung an arm around Kendall making him flinch a bit. Even Kendall himself doesn't understand why he's so jumpy around him.

"You don't mind if I tag along?" Liam smiles at Kendall. At this point he doesn't know what to say or know how to say no to Liam's smile. He looks like a big puppy who might get hurt at the word "no".

"Yeah that's alright."

............................................................

Kendall arrives home, holding his little brother's hand and his sister who already walked into the house and Liam stands besides Kendall as they come to a halt.

"You know when you said you'd tag along, I didn't think you'd follow until I got home,"Kendall says, looking up at the giant and crossing his arms as his brother wiggled out of his grip, running inside the house.

Liam smiles, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well, it seemed like you looked sad about going home." Kendall flinched at what Liam said. Was he sad? He didn't know. He didn't think he was.

"I wasn't but thanks, I guess." Kendall gave him a half smile, not sure what to say except a thanks. Liam didn't say anything except grinned like a stupid dog but eventually he left, waving Kendall goodbye.

Kendall sighs as he turn to look at his house. His family moved here when he was halfway through 6th grade and now he's on his last year. It's been a fun few years but he didn't really know what to make out of it. It doesn't matter how many years had passed, his family is still the same.
