"How was the wedding?" Kate asks, sipping on a mango juice that Kendall ordered for her.

"It was—" He stopped, did he want to lie? "It wasn't as bad as I thought." He lied. It was bad but he didn't want Kate to worry even more than she was.

"You sure?" Kate squints at him.

"I'm sure. Besides, you have a date with Roy soon."

Kate smiles. "Yup!"

"Weird how you guys ended up together. Like, who would have thought?" Kendall chuckles.

Kate holds in a laugh, her eyes crinkling. "I know, right? All three of us has been friends for a long time so I've never imagined that I would end up with the either of you at all."

Kendall remained silent. He didn't want to be awkward but he couldn't feel but feel a tug at his heart. He wants to be happy but he just couldn't.

Kate notices Kendall not smiling and inches closer to him. "Are you holding up okay? I know it was an asshole move for that guy to invite you to his wedding. Like, what did he think? Does he think you'd be happy and cheering him on..."

Kendall wasn't even listening anymore. The wedding he attended, half attended, was none other than Liam Shane who was getting married to Daisy Kacke. He wanted to get angry at life but he can't. It's not like life would listen to him anyways. Probably would give him more shit then he needed.

After they kissed for the first time twenty years ago, they became more than friends but they weren't lovers either. They were a secret, a secret that the two only knew. They both kept each other in the dark until when Kendall had to leave the town as he has to go to college, losing contact with Liam when Liam didn't reply to him for months which continued into years. He has no idea how Liam got his number, how Daisy ended up marrying Liam, he didn't know why they'd invite him to the wedding. He doesn't know but it didn't matter anymore anyways.

"So, I'm just saying, you should go and meet someone new." He finally heard what Kate was saying after thinking to himself for quite some time.

"Kate, you're right. I should stop being so hung up over some guy." Kendall lets out a big sigh, that sigh seemed like all his problems just went out of the window. "It's been twenty years."

It's time to let go and go on.
