Chapter 8

Kendall sighs, his eyes scanning the lunchroom for someone. He couldn't believe he probably won't ever talk to them ever again.

Suddenly someone slings and arm around him.

"You know, I'm really sorry that you and Daisy broke up but it's been three months." The voice belonged to Kate. "You didn't even say why you guys broke up either."

Kendall sighs, "It's just not worth saying. It's literally so fucking stupid." He doesn't want to admit that he got dumped by Daisy after ghosting her for a week after their make out session where he had realized maybe he had a big crush on Liam Shane. It was the first time he had ever felt like that. The first time he's ever got hard for anyone. The first time he went home and rubbed one out for a person. The first time where he felt guilty about thinking about a person in a sexual way.

"If you say so," Kate says in a sing sing voice. "Then, what's the deal with you and Liam?"

Kendall looks at her, "What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean. He always come by looking for you and he's like a big golden retriever who seems to hold love in his eyes just for you-"

Kendall puts his hand on Kate's mouth preventing her to speak any more exaggerations. And, he doesn't want to get any false hope.

Kate pries off Kendall's hand. "Your hand is salty as fuck." She makes a gagging sound. "Also, it's not like a lie. I remember when we finally got to play gay chicken, you guys got paired up and well, you guys almost kissed if it weren't for you backing out."

He wanted to forget that moment but it seems like his body remembers as he feels his whole body heating up. That happened after a month Daisy and him broke up. Kate wanted to cheer him up and thought that playing a game might cheer him up. It did but also left him an unforgettable memory.

"Then, there was also this time where you were sick and he immediately went to your house to take care of you," Kate sighs dreamily. "He's like too perfect.

"Kate, just stop."

"No. There's more. Like, that time where we were in the movie theaters and he compared hand sizes with you, and we all know that's just a thing that people do with someone they like."

"Seriously, Kate if you don't-"

"And that time where there weren't any seats left in Liam's car so you had to sit on him since you were short enough and small enough to fit in the driver's sea-"

"Oh yeah, I remember that." A voice suddenly cuts in making the two whip their head around only to see a grinning Liam.

Kendall swore he stopped breathing, shooting a glare at Kate who looked at him apologetically.

"No you don't," Kendall awkwardly laughs, making it sound like he was joking.

"I clearly remembered because you were like wiggling like a little worm." Liam chuckles wholeheartedly while Kendall wanted to strangle Kate to death.

Their lunch continued with Liam's constant teasing while Kate tried escaping but Kendall caught her, telling her off.

"So, how's your love life going?" Liam asks, pushing himself off the swing that he was swinging on leaving Kendall on the other swing.

"If you forgot, I don't have one."

"No, I meant like—You like someone new?" Liam leans against the metal pole that holds up the swings, staring at Kendall who looked away and decided the ground was more interesting to look at.

Kendall didn't know if he wanted to tell him the truth or not.

"I do." Kendall decided it was fine to tell him. It's not like it's a crime to like someone else.

"Who?"

"Aren't you curious?" Kendall snickers at the curious boy.

"Well, yeah. You'd be curious too if the person you liked liked someone."

Kendall stopped swinging, he almost broke his neck to just stare at the boy who seemed calm like an ocean that hasn't been hit by a storm.

"What do you mean by that?" Kendall asks in disbelief.

"I think you know what I mean," Liam says, pushing himself off the pole and trapped Kendall by holding onto the two chains holding up the swing.

The two boys locked eyes for a minute before Liam lowered his head down.

"I think we both know what I meant." With that Liam closes the distance between them.

Kendall felt like there were fireworks in stomach, the burning feeling in his heart, his throat closing up. But that didn't stop him from kissing back Liam with the most passion he's ever had in his eighteen years of life.

Meeting Liam Shane has turned Kendall Rowan's mundane life to a full 180. He didn't know if it was a horrible turn but he just knew Liam's lips were the most addictive thing as they held onto each other, kissing until the sun went down.
