"Mull it... Mull it over in the water?! Are you serious?!" Gwen had been rather pleased when Cedric told her he'd managed to catch up with Harry before breakfast this morning. And then Liv shared the full story of what exactly he'd told the Gryffindor boy during their conversation. "Ced, you sounded like you were flirting or coming onto him."

"I told him to take the egg! Not me!" Cedric exclaimed in surprise, making Olivia burst out laughing from her seat next to him. Gwen could only shake her head in disbelief. "It didn't feel right to just say it outright. I know he did with me, and I appreciate it, but if someone finds out the punishment could cost us both the victory."

"I'll make sure he interprets it correctly later." Gwen said. There wasn't much to misinterpret, but she wanted to be certain Harry too would be ready going into the second task once the 24th of February came along. "So, when are we going to get to-" She was ready to make plans for a study session to get everything Cedric would need, however, she didn't get to finish as another voice joined in.

"Miss Song." Gwen turned in her seat and looked up at her Head of house with curious eyes. "I'm sorry to do this so early in the morning, but I'm afraid I'm here to notify you that you're to report to detention later tonight."

"Detention? What... I'm... May I ask why, Professor?" Gwen stumbled over her words in surprise for a few moments before finally managing to get out her question. She couldn't think of any rules that she may have broken since their arrival to the castle yesterday. Yes, she and Cedric had skipped dinner and gotten it from the kitchens, but there was no rule against going to the kitchen and they'd also made it back to the common room before curfew.

"It's regarding your activities after the Yule Ball. I do hope you won't do something like that again." Professor Sprout looked more disappointed than anything else as she spoke. "It was very dangerous. If something had happened, if the ice had given out beneath you, well... I don't like thinking of all the bad outcomes that could've been."

"You're absolutely right, Professor. It won't happen again, I promise." Gwen said in a meek voice, Sprout responding with a simple nod of her head before she walked away from the table. Once the professor was gone, the Song groaned out as she let her head fall down to the surface of the table. "Damn Rita Skeeter."

"Look on the bright side, at least you get to serve detention with your boyfriend." Cedric teased, the word 'boyfriend' sounding like a song as he said it. And it made Gwen's head snap up from the table.

"What do you... Oh Merlin. Oh no, no, no." While at first, she was entirely confused by why he was saying it, it wasn't long before Gwen's forehead was smacking against the table again. "I'm doomed."

"Hold on, I thought that would be good? You two kissed and all?" Cedric's demeanour instantly changed once he took note of Gwen's reaction. Since their return to Hogwarts, he hadn't asked her about George or the Yule Ball, knowing she'd tell him all about it when she wanted to. However, from what Rita Skeeter had written, he assumed the gossip to be of the good kind. "If he did something bad, I'm hexing the living daylights out of him."
