After dropping off the money and the car into the warehouse, the nine walk over to the water fountains in front of the Bellagio, just standing there and taking in what they just accomplished. Lulee looks at the water in front of them, trying to look at every single water droplet but ultimately failing. She can't help but wonder how a simple thing is so beautiful. Rusty, standing next to her, is also staring at the most beautiful thing he's ever looked at. That being Lulee herself looking amazed by the water and happy that they pulled off the heist. Even though she's wearing a simple outfit of a black turtleneck with black leggings, Rusty can't help but admire her. The way her messy bun got even more messy from the helmet and allowing two strands of hair to perfectly frame her face. Her hair may look messy to some but to Rusty, it's perfect, she's perfect. His eyes bore into the side of her face, making her feel like someone is staring at her. She turns to her right to see Rutsy and opens her mouth to say something but couldn't. Rusty immediately, as quickly as lightning, leans down and puts his lips to Lulee's, closing his eyes. The girl's eyes widen in shock as her hands lift up, not having a clue where to put them. But once she relaxes, she realizes this is what she's been missing throughout her and Rusty's friendship. She closes her eyes as Rusty puts his hands on Lulee's cheeks, holding her face. She wraps her arms around his neck and plays with his hair. She feels at home, more than she ever had in the past with Rusty and he realizes that this is the most love he's ever had for something in his whole life. Rusty smiles into the kiss, Lulee breaking into a smile as well. Both of their bodies are being filled with a new spark, a spark they never thought to have had with each other. The spark of pure and undeniable love.
"Bloody finally!" A voice makes Lulee stop kissing Rusty and turn around to see Basher with his hands up along with everyone else watching. Embarrassed, she blushes and buries her face into Rusty's neck, getting a light laugh out of him. Rusty looks around at his friends, all smiling at the two, and his gaze lands on Linus, who is smiling a huge bit. Rusty nods at him, basically telling him sorry for being a dick at times, he was just being jealous. Linus nods back and smiles even more, happy that the girl he became so close with and he considers a sister, is happy with a man who will treat her well.
"Luls, there's nothing to be embarrassed about," Rusty takes a finger and lifts up Lulee's chin so she's looking at him.
"Luls?" The girl questions, intrigued by the new nickname.
"Like it?"
"Love it."
"I love you." Lulee's eyes widen for the second time in surprise, blushing again.
"H-huh?"
"I. Love. You." Rusty iterates every single word, smiling down at the girl.
"I love you," Lulee responds. With that, Rusty leans down to her, giving her another kiss.
~~~~~~~~~~ three to six months later ~~~~~~~~~~
"You are always eating," Lulee remarks, watching Rusty take a bite out of his burger.
"And?" Rusty asks, licking his fingers.
"Nothing." Lulee shakes her head at the man when he realizes Danny is right in front of them. "Hi Danny." Lulee goes and hugs Danny, him returning the hug. "I see you're still wearing the fit from that night." Lulee laughs as Danny looks down at his clothes.
"They don't exactly give you clothes in prison," Danny responds then looks at Rusty.
"I hope you were the groom," Rusty remarks.
"Ted Nugent called. He wants your shirt back," Danny remarks back, Rusty just smiles. The three start walking towards Rusty's car that he still has. "Lee, my collar can't be straight, I just threw it on." Danny says, confused as to why she didn't fix it.
"I got out of that habit," Lulee says, smiling big.
"That's incredible, I'm proud of you," Danny says, bringing her in for a side hug.
"Yeah, I realized that I don't need to focus on my past as much anymore. Why focus on the shitty past when you can look forward to the future?" Danny hums, agreeing.
"That future with your absolutely dashing boyfriend who, by the way, helped you with the habit breaking," Rusty says, stealing Lulee away from Danny and giving her a side hug. Danny's eyes widen.
"When did that happen?" He asks.
"The night you got arrested," Rusty responds.
"The second time, after the heist arrest," Lulee adds, smirking. Danny glares at her for a second before seeing Rusty's car.
"12.5 million and you drive this piece of shit across the country to pick me up?" Danny asks.
"Blew most of it on the suit, and Lu," Rusty responds.
"Where are they?" Danny asks.
"Back row, silver sedan. 10 o'clock," Rusty says.
"We stopped and picked up your personal effects," Lulee says. "Hope you don't mind." The three arrive at the car and all lean down to see Tess.
"I'm not sure these belong to me," Danny says, staring at her. With that, Danny gets into the back with Tess, Lulee gets into the passenger seat, and Rusty gets into the driver's seat. "Hi."
"Hi," Tess responds.
"You said that you sold this," Danny says, looking at Tess' ring.
"I said that," Tess says.
"Liar."
"Thief." Lulee smiles as she sees Danny and Tess kiss from the mirror. Rusty puts a hand on Lulee's thigh as he starts driving away and she interlaces their hands, smiling up at him.
"I love you," she whispers to him.
"I love you more," he whispers back as he brings their hands to his mouth so he could kiss her hand.
