Sliverstone walked alongside the brown she-cat, her eyes fixed on her broad shoulders and powerful paws. She must have come from a harsh place but had overcome the challenges over time and had become such a heavily built warrior. The silver cat thought for a moment, "Are you a warrior?" Most certainly this cat beside her was no kit and was much too advanced to be an apprentice.
"Yes," the cat answered lightly, her gentle voice contradicting her intimidating body, "My name is Moss-shadow, succeeded by my former mentor Honeywing."
"You know Honeywing?" Moss-shadow nodded. Sliverstone was surprised this new cat knew about the legendary warrior. But then again, she had been in BrambleClan before she was born.
Quietly, the two cats made their way past the dens with clanmates passing swift glances at the familiar warrior. Sliverstone heard hushed whispers mentioning both Bramblestar and Mosskit. Finally, the two cats arrived at HighRock where the leader, a near spitting image of rippling muscle, stood up straight, looking down at his daughter.
"Bramblestar," Moss-shadow addressed.
"My dear, Mosskit, where have you been?" There was suddenly a light in the leader's amber eyes that no one had seen before.
"We have much to discuss, Father," the light brown she-cat glanced around the clearing where clanmates were starting to gather. "But not here."
Bramblestar dipped his head in agreement. "Very well." Then he looked towards Sliverstone, a rare, hidden smile on his face. "Sliverstone, you have been trained by Hollypelt who had been trained by my most loyal warrior. You have found my lost daughter, a task our whole clan was unable to do for moons. There is no other cat I would believe would make a better deputy than you."
Sliverstone felt appreciation from the clan, for they had been listening in on the announcement. The white-faced cat found herself staring into the green eyes of the widely-beloved Amberclaw, her face an emotion of pride and approval.
"Amberclaw would be in better position," Sliverstone thought out loud. "But you have your reasons, Bramblestar, and I respect your decision."
"Sliverstone! Sliverstone!" The clan raised their voices to cheer on their long-awaited deputy. Both Bramblestar and Amberclaw went to stand by the silver warrior as she felt herself being bathed in the love of her clanmates... and the love from The Place of Cold Waters sent from Nightwhisper.
