•Be friends with someone, could make there day•"Kenz could you possibly take any longer in there?" My brother shouts banging on the bathroom door. "I gotta see how hot these girls are gonna be. New school, hot girls bro."
"Zack, there's more to life than women." I reply while making sure my eyeliner is the right amount of smudged.
I open the door and walk out smiling at my brother. "You can go in."
"Emo freak." He jokes pushing my head away. I laugh. I walk into my kitchen and grab two water bottles from the fridge, putting one in my bag and throwing the other to Zack as he walks in the kitchen.
"Hey mom." I say as she joins us in the kitchen. "Hey sweetie. Have a good day." She says kissing my cheek and walking away.
"Short and simple." I sigh looking at my brother. "Like always." He adds. "Whatever let's go." I say walking out the door.
We walk to the school talking and having random conversations. "Well good luck with those hot girls." I tease as we approach the school. "Maybe you can meet some freakish people like you and be friends with them." He says sarcastically. "I'm not a freak." I say turning my head towards him. "Whatever." He chuckles walking away, I assume to either try and make friends or find some girls to flirt with.
I don't even know why we bother anymore, we're probably gonna move in like three months again anyways. Whenever our mom gets a new boyfriend we move, it's just a repeating story. She find a guy, claims she's in love. We move in with the guy after they've been together for like 4 weeks because she play the whole "oh I'm so poor and a young mom" card on them and then they kick us out a few months because they realize how fucking crazy she is. She claims this time we're gonna stay but the only way I can see that happening would be because her new boyfriend is always traveling for work. He's probably cheating. I wouldn't blame him if he was.
"Hey." A voice snaps me out of my thoughts. "Oh, uh hi?" I say looking at a very pretty brunette standing in-front of me. "Are you new? I've never seen you around here before." She asks. "Yeah I am. It's that obvious huh?" I giggle. "Well you only look a little lost." She teases. "I'm Evie by the way. Evie Zamora." She says with a smile. "Kenzie." I reply returning a smile. "Come hang with me and my friends. You'd fit in perfectly." She says looking at me. "Cute necklace." She adds. "Thanks." I say
She raps her arm around mine and leads me to her group of friends and introduces me.
"Hey guys, this is Kenzie. She's new, I thought she'd fit in with us." She says with a smile. All her friends look at me. I cant tell if they are judging me in a good way or a bad way, or if there even is a good way of judging. But they are definitely judging.
"I guess she can hang. You got nice style." One of the girls says. "It could improve somewhat." Another says with a laugh. Okay that one was definitely a bad way of judging. "It's okay you can come shopping with us tomorrow." Evie chimes. I personally thought my outfit was fine, I was wearing low rise jeans with a regular black tank top, but I guess they thought I could do better. I mean I could probably use some jewelry which I would have put in if I wasn't being rushed out of the bathroom this morning, but it's whatever.
We all start walking to somewhere, obviously I have no clue where. We stop in-front of a group of guys. "What's up girl." A girl says approaching us.
"Who's that chick?" I hear one of the guys say, probably referring to me. "New girl." His friend says. I look over and examine the group of boys landing my eyes on a blond one. Cute. I think to myself. They definitely seem like they type my brother would hang out with I'm surprised he isn't with them.
"What's up Evie." "Hey new girl." I hear some guys say as their group starts to follow us as we begin walking again. I glance over at two girls looking at us as the group of guys walks over. They seem nice. But they clearly are upset about the guys walking away.
I somehow made it through the day without wanting to die, except Zack ditched me for some chicks so now I have to walk home alone. I slowly walk kicking some pebbles on the side of the road. I stop as I hear running footsteps coming up behind me. Please don't be a creep. Please don't be a creep. I say closing my eyes and taking a deep breathe before turning around. Thanks god. I think to myself as I stare blankly at the blonde boy who's approaching me. It's the same guy from earlier, the one I thought was cute.
"All alone?" He asks. "No the Easter bunny is somewhere around." I say sarcastically. "Ah a jokester I see." He replies. "What's your name?" He questions. "What is this? An interrogation? You know it's a little weird that you just approached me and started walking with me when we don't even know each other." I reply. "Well that's why I asked your name. So we can know each other." He says with a laugh. "Kenzie." I say sticking my hand out. "Mason." He says shaking my hand. "You walking home?" I ask. "Yeah, I suppose you are too?" "Yep." "So why are you all alone?" He asks. "My brother ditched me." "Ah so I suppose your brother is Zack." He replies. "Yes, yes he is. Did he bother you? I'm so sorry if he did." I ramble. "No, he's cool. He hung with me and my friends today. I see you were with Evie." He says. "Yeah, I don't know what it is about me that's making me seem so approachable, but the both of you kinda randomly approached me." I say squinting at the bright sun. "Well that's how people make friends, isn't it?" "I mean yeah, I guess it is." I laugh. "This is my house. It was nice meeting you tho." The blond says stopping. I pull out a tiny note pad out of my bag. "Hey, call me." I say handing over the paper after writing my number on it. He smiles. "Yeah, see you later, Kenz."
