"Evie Zamora has really pretty skin." I hear a girl say as i walk by her table and over to Evie table. She's one the the girls that was staring at us yesterday.

"Kenz!" Evie squeals holding her arms out for a hug. "Hey." I say confused but hugging her back. "Come on." She says grabbing my hand as we follow two other girls from our table and pass a blonde girl.

"Nice socks." One of the girls says as the blonde girl throws something away. "Who let her out of the cabbage patch." Another girl says as the rest of them laugh. I look over at her. Her socks aren't that bad. I mean they are a little childish. But it's just socks so I don't know why they are laughing at her for it. I give her a smile.

"Come on Kenzie." Evie says grabbing my arm and pulling me away. "Don't even think about talking to a loser like that." Astrid laughs. "I wasn't going to. I just dozed off I guess." I lied. I wanted to talk to her maybe even have a conversation . She honestly seemed very nice. But now that I know what kind of people I'm stuck in a friend group with that conversation will definitely never happen.

"Anyways." Evie laughs. "We're going shopping on melrose tomorrow. You should come." She smiles looking at me. "Uh yeah, totally." I say smiling back. "Uh I'll see you later, okay?" I say getting up. "Okay bye." She says befire quickly turning her attention back to her other friends.

I walk over to a lunch table and sit down. The three girls look at me. "I wanted to give you this." I say taking off one of my necklaces and handing it to the blonde girl. "The way they treated you wasn't fair." "Your friends with evie zamora." One of her friends randomly says. "Uh yeah sure, I guess." I reply "you guys are so cool." Another friend says. "Thanks. I have to get going though." I say as I see a particular blond boy sitting with a group of guys. "Bye." She says as I get up and walk away.

"So you know my sister?" Mason says as I approach him. "What?" I question. "That girl over there. You just gave her something." He says pointing as the blonde girl. "Oh yeah, evies friends were being mean to her and I felt bad so I gave her one of my necklaces." I say. "Well thanks for looking out for tracy." He says

Tracy. Cute name.

"You know you never called me." I say looking at him. "Oh I guess I forgot." I says with a laugh. "Wanna hang out later?" I ask. Please say yes. "Yeah sure. "Cool." I say before walking away.

Thankfully another okay day at school. At least this time I don't have to walk alone. "So made any freaky friends yet?" Zack asks me. "Haha very funny. I have made non freaky friends tho." I reply. "Names?" "Evie Zamora and I guess this kid mason." I reply with a shrug. "No way. Evie Zamora. She's like so hot." "She's thirteen dipshit." "Oh shit never mind then. But mason? Your like never friends with guys. They are always scared of you and run away when you approach them." He says. I roll my eyes. "He actually is the one that approached me. Yesterday actually when you left me all by myself to walk home. You know I could have been kidnapped." "Well your still here, aren't you?" He asks. "Yeah your lucky I'm still here. Anyways he approached me and asked my name and shit and then I gave him my number and we're hanging out today. You know like a normal friend that isn't scared of me." I say. "Not scared yet." He jokes. "Oh shut up." I say as we reach our house. I walk through the door. "It's quiet." I say confused. "Mom?" Zack yells. No response. I walk over to the kitchen counter and pick up a note. "Went on a business trip with Darrel. Be back in two weeks." I read trying to make out the slopping hand writing. "So what? She just left us?" He asks leaning against the counter. "Business trip my ass, if Darrel worked at a place that went on business trips we wouldn't be living in this shit hole." I say crumpling the note up. "So where do you think they went?" He asks. "Probably to some coke house, who knows if they will even come back." I sigh throwing the paper into the trash can before walking away towards my room. "Oh come on Kenz, you cant just get pissed off every time she leaves. You should be use to this by now. Your not her little girl anymore she isn't gonna stay around just for you." He says following me. I stop and turn around. "I know that. But she should still be staying her with us. She's out mother. We cant live by ourselves. What money are we gonna use to get food for the next two weeks Zack? She needs to stay here and be a mother." I argue. "I'll figure it out. Okay. I'll get us food." He replies. "Whatever." I say turning around and walking into my room.

My mother does this all the time and I'm honestly getting tired of it. My phone rings.

"Hello?" I ask annoyed. "We still hanging out?" I hear masons voice says. "Shit, sorry. Yeah. Uh meet me at the park?" I ask. "Yeah sure." He replies. "Okay." I say before hanging up.

"So how are you liking it here?" Masons asks as I sit down in the grass next to him. "Well I mean it's nice, there's nice people too." I reply. "Like me?" "That's a bit cocky but yeah like you. You and Evie have been very nice to me." I reply with a giggle.

Me and mason talk for what seems like hours. I mean probably not hours but for a little bit at the least. We've been talking about like the most random things, what we have in common and just our lives.

"So, do you hang out with many people?" He asks. "Not really." I respond. "So why hang out with me?" He asks. "Well, I don't know, I guess I just thought you were cool and wanted to hang out with you." I respond. "Well I think your very cool too." He responds. We look at each other for a little bit before he realizes the time. "Oh shit. I gotta get home. But uh, this was fun. I'll see you tomorrow." He says getting up. "Yeah see you tomorrow." I reply as he walks away and I lay in the grass.

I am in no rush to get home as there is no one who really cares where I am at the moment there. Well I guess Zack might care but, oh well.
