...

"Klein Moretti; that's my name."

Before Cale could react, Klein, the self-claimed professional seer, stretched out his hand. He was holding a relatively thick book.

"Here is some basic informations of this world. If you ever encounter any more difficulties, and didn't know where to turn to, then, you can consider learning from this book. It's quite useful. Many of my old costumers are providing a lot of great feedbacks."

As he was already in the lead of the situation, Klein showed no sign of shame, proceeding to describe various uses of his so-called book.

That made Cale turned flabbergasted a bit.. not knowing how to react.

But soon, he realized that this might be a chance for him to leave.

"Alright. I'll buy it."

In Cale's thought, Klein was just some business promoter who provided him quite useful informations and wished to get a little compensation back, so Cale didn't refuse.

Plus- he's a rich young master. Just spending a few gold pounds on the way to church, wasn't something that suspicious.

'Heh, my dear self always spend hundreds times of gold pounds daily for good quality alcohol, so why would anyone care if I just waste some money on a book..'

Concluded his thought, Cale reached out his hand to grab the book.

He browsed through the book a bit.

At the moment, the first thing that caught his attention, was a black-and-white picture on the first page of the book. It looked like a library, consisting many kinds of knowledge.

Since Cale had been out of carriage for too long, he quickly closed the book with a soft bam before opening his mouth- to ask for the book's price and leave.

"Okay, so how much is..."

Not even a second later did Cale immediately shut his mouth. He stopped himself from saying anything and turned back to the direction of his carriage.

It was gone.

The Klein Moretti that was talking to him and trying to sell his book- was gone!

'No.. was he even selling? He didn't even take the money!'

Cale didn't dare looking back at the corner of the street. He felt like, instead of the empty alley, if he were to turn back and see the already-disappeared person reappear again, that would be even more terrifying!

'Phew.. logic.. logic.. he must be teleporting or something, right..?'

Giving himself a reassurance, Cale patted his poor heart a few times before getting on the carriage.

In his grip of hand, was a thick book that briefly emitted a faint fog of grayish color.

...

After the horse-carriage left,

A blur projection of a figure reformed itself at the corner of the street.

He was a scholarly-looking man with a top hat, and a cane in his hand.

In front of him, a table soon took shape, along with a deck of tarot cards.

The cards were laying backward, except for the two cards that were drawn from before.

One was The Hermit card.

And the other one was..

Picking up the second card, a picture was reflected in his eyes.
