"This is a scary urban legend called "The Licked Hand". We'll call the little girl Julie. When Julie often became scared she would put her hand under the bed and her dog, which was a large collie, would lick her hand to comfort her," Ryan stated.

"Now that Julie was 14, her parents went out and stayed out later at night. Julie didn't want to stay home alone but her parents told her she was old enough to stay home alone," Ryan stated.

He looked around at everyone at the campfire before stating, "Julie's parents left at 8pm but told her to lock all the windows and doors. But there was one window in the basement that wouldn't close all the way. Trying as best as she could, she finally got the window shut, but it wouldn't lock. So, she left the window and went back upstairs. But just to make sure that no one could get in, she put the deadlock on the basement door."

"Why are you telling this story then? She was obviously safe," Erin stated. Ryan shook his head and stated, "Yeah, sure. If she was safe I wouldn't be telling the story."

"Anyway, after an hour and a half of watching TV Julie, had some dinner, fed the dog, and decided to go to sleep. Julie was kind of scared sleeping with no one home, when she heard a whimpering sound. She put her hand under her bed and got licked. Then she heard it again, that whimpering sound, so she put her hand under her bed once again and got licked," Ryan stated.

"She eventually went to sleep again, but during the night she woke up, startled. When she did wake up she heard a sudden noise, like water dripping and it seemed to be coming from the bathroom. Thinking she may have just left the water dripping, she went back to sleep," he finished.

"She reached her hand down for a lick for reassurance. But around 3:45 she woke up hearing a dripping sound again. Again, she reached down and got licked. At 6:52 the girl decided that she had enough...she got up just in time to see her parents were pulling up to the house," Ryan stated.

Ryan made a dramatic pause before he continued, "She walked to the bathroom and there was her big collie dog, skinned and hung up on the curtain rod. The dripping noise she heard happened to be the dog's blood dripping into a puddle on the floor. Julie screamed and ran to her bedroom to get a weapon, in case someone was still in the house. And there it was on the floor, next to her bed a small note, written in blood, saying."
