Third Person's P.O.V.

"Just behave. After the first week, we'll check up on you, okay? I'll video call you." A middle-aged woman fidgets, crossing and uncrossing her arms agitatedly while staring down her son.

"Yeah, mom, I got it." Mark scoffs, scuffing his shoe against the ground to kick measly pebbles, rolling their eyes.

"Don't start, young man- stop that, you'll scratch your shoes." The woman clicks her tongue in distaste.

Her hands reach down to adjust the brunet's necktie, tightening it to an unsafe degree.

"Mom, you're suffocating me." Mark complains, trying to tilt their head away from the offending tie.

"Don't overreact, you have a collar, the tie won't suffocate you." She shoots back, putting her hands on her hips.

"That's not the only way you're suffocating me..." Mark grumbles, almost inaudibly.

The woman's eyes soften before sighing in defeat, hand making a final rest on the hazel eyed boy's shoulder.

"Just-..." She pauses, pursing her lips, "just don't embarrass me, okay?"

With a final gentle, but firm, squeeze to their shoulder, she leans back, patting the trunk of the car.

"I'll get going, I love you." She mumbles, managing a strained smile at the boy before hopping into the car.

Mark sighs, watching his mother's car drive out through the gigantic black gate of Nevermore.

"Nevermore, huh?" Mark mumbles to himself, hand nervously gripping at the handle of their bag.

Sucking in an encouraging breath, he takes his first steps in the actual campus, ears immediately assaulted with the chatter of other students.

That was the moment Mark realized.

"What the fuck am I supposed to do now?" Mark's eyebrows furrow together, frantically looking around for some potential help or clue.

"Hey, kid." An unknown voice calls from behind the Mothman, making his head turn to the direction so fast that it probably should've broken their neck.

"Hello?" Mark greets experimentally, confusion evident on his face as they started at the new face. Clearly, a werewolf, taller than them by quite a bit, ears and a tail puffed out, it helped them identify the species, but it was odd in the first place.

"Mark, right? Tenth year? Transferee?" The stranger questions, not doing anything to lessen Mark's confusion, if anything, they added to it.

Slightly suspicious, Mark only nods, once and slowly, as if unsure of even their own name.

"Okay, good, come with me, I'm your guide." The taller monotonously states, waving his hand as a signal to follow.

"Wait, wait, wait, no, you might be dragging me into some weird cult. Who are you?" Mark investigates, jogging up to the stranger to stare at her face quizzically from the side.

The stranger stops in their tracks, a quirk up of his eyebrow being a clue to say 'dude forgot he might be a kidnapper.'

"Oh, uh, Felix, eleventh year." Felix introduces themself, before going to start their walk again.
