Daya was sat under a three with her friends Maddy and Alyssa in the school's yard. It was lunch break and they have all brought food from home because they didn't want to go to the cafeteria. That place was always full and smelled bad. Before they started eating, she got Maddy to help her with her insulin doses. Same routine as usual.

They have all met when they were juniors and became friends pretty fast. There has always been one thing that united the three: their love of music. Now they are seniors and have a band together "The SafetyPins". Of course, the name was Daya's idea. They were already close before it, but after the band was created they became practically inseparable.

This year however Daya got a job so she could buy the drums she always wanted. That meant they'd have less time together unfortunately. The job was at a small market and Daya thought she was gonna hate it. But to the girl's surprise it wasn't that bad. A certain someone has made it pretty nice actually.

Bosco was also a senior but from a different high school. The short brunette took the shift against her will, by pure pressure from her parents. Her alternative style caught Daya's eye since the first day. Bosco could say the same thing about the tall rockstar, approaching her first since Daya can be a little shy. To their boss's bad luck both started to chat more then work ever since.

They created a bond pretty quick and before she could notice, Daya started to think and talk about the girl 24/7. They started hanging out out of work and even had a few sleepovers.

- So yesterday Bosco and I went to have ice cream on this pretty cool place and I think you guys would really like it - Daya told Maddy and Alyssa - We should totally go there after this weekend's rehearsal, what do you girls think?

- Yeah that would be great- Maddy speaks and Alyssa confirms nodding her head, too busy with her food to speak - But um Daya can I ask you a question?

- Uh sure, what?

- Y' know you have been talking a lot about this girl Bosco... - Maddy starts - Are you guys a thing?

- Oh um no! - Daya quickly answers - She's just a friend.

- Oh okay - Maddy speaks - But aren't you both gay? Wouldn't it be easier if you just dated each other already?

- Maddy! I'm not falling for every girl friend I have!And I haven't even told you she's a lesbian, like I don't even know if she is or not - Daya gets read as a tomato - That's not how being gay works, am I right Lyssa?

- I mean yeah ... - the Latina finally speaks - But I did think you like liked her...

- Seriously?

- Daya my love it's okay if you like her - Alyssa says - Maybe you should ask her out.

- Okay but I don't like her. Not in that way.

- Sure... - Maddy says, taking a bite from her sandwich.

After school Daya went directly to her job. She wasn't really happy about it but at least it was Friday and she doesn't work on weekends.

Probably the thing that she hated the most about her job would be the ugly uniform. It is a trashy shade of green and has details in white. Definitely not her stile. She still manages to look alternative with the safety pin earrings, her collars and bracelets. It was because of those accessories that she caught Bosco's attention during her first week. The shorter girl doesn't over accessorizes as much as Daya, but her makeup however is quite remarkable. Bosco paints sharp eyeliners and unique eyebrows.
