This rule is what people are scared of the most when they think about asking out their crush. Many may counter "But I don't want to get hurt!" Well I have a plan for the rejecting and how to slip out of it easily while maintaining a friendship with your crush.
•If you want to be direct like the rule states to be, I suggest you get your crush alone before doing it, this way if your crush says no you can quickly excuse yourself without any extra awkwardness that a group could bring to the situation.
•If you are more on the shy side you could easily write a note to your crush and wait for a reply, or you could facetime, Skype, Snapchat or any other form of communication you could use though I don't recommend texting, I would go in the direction of video chatting
•Last but not least if you do choose to text your crush I have an easy way to keep a friendship going without it being awkward, unless of course you want it awkward....
Anywhoozies. All you have to do is get your crush to ask you who you like (over text or IM of course) which to them you can respond "Yeah you" which means yes I do have a crush, it's you. If you're crush responds positively to your message, you may be on your way to a relationship! However if your crush reacts negatively all you have to do is type "sorry I ment yeah, you?" Which means yeah I have a crush do you?
I hope you all enjoyed my first part to my middle school survival guide series, I hope this tips can help you!
