She was tired. Very tired.
She stared up at the dark ceiling.
It was quiet.
She didn't feel like moving. She was so unbelievably tired.
She could hear voices around her. She didn't know what they were saying. Everything was muffled, but she didn't care to even try to make out anything.
Her body felt so light for the first time. She was comfortable, or at the very least, she was comfortable enough to not want to move from her spot.
She didn't know where she was, or even what was happening to her. She just knew that she didn't care.
In that very moment in time, she didn't care about where she was or what she was doing.
Her whole body was numb, and she could no longer feel the pain.
It was amazing.
All she ever wanted was to no longer feel the pain for once.
For once.
Yeah.
That's sounded nice.

"Don't get near her." Swordfish instructed.
They watched helplessly as the girl continued to seize in her bed. She was convulsing, clawing at the bedsheet desperately as she tried to grab something that wasn't there.
"Shouldn't we be helping her?" Orca asked.
"She looks like she's in pain. I wonder why it's happening now..." Shark murmured to herself.
"Don't touch her. She has to get over it on her own if she wants to survive down here." Swordfish said coldly as she stared at the struggling girl.
Wolf eventually stopped seizing and her body went completely still. Tears streaked her face and she appeared to be silently choking.
"Can she breathe?" Orca asked.
"Who cares." Swordfish muttered, turning to leave the room.
"Oh, you poor thing. I can't even begin to imagine how much it hurts." Shark said, approaching the girls bedside.
A long wail of pain escaped Wolf's mouth as she turned herself on her side, trembling violently. She was curled up in a ball, tail tucked between her legs.
It was like there was a shiver that was permanently part of her body now. Her breathing was uneven and labored.
The reason they even came to her room in the first place is because they heard her scream. They thought she was in danger, but in a way, she was.
"What happened to her?" Orca asked, walking up next to Shark.
"Who knows. I suspect that something is happening behind the scenes here. She always flinches when I try to touch her, and every day she shows up with more cuts and bandages. I've seen the look in her eyes from the day we met till now. The flame is slowly dying in it." Shark said, staring at the trembling Lupo.
Orca frowned.
"Is there anything we can do?" She asked.
"We may be able to keep the fire burning, but if we don't pay attention, that last remaining ember will be extinguished under these waves." Shark whispered softly.
~~~
When she opened her eyes again, she couldn't feel a single part of her body.
Everything was numb, and she vaguely felt something sharp pounding in her head.
