Unexpected Things Always Happen

Chapter 2

Thursday (Lunch):

"Hey guys!" I said as I sit at my new table.

"Hey Em ready for today's game!" Ari squealed.

"You bet I'll have 5 bucks by the end of the game." I said with a smirk.

"I think Connor's smirk is contagious because now he's got you doing it." Spencer said as she sits in front of me.
The table is empty everyone must be at the lunch line. Aria is sitting to my left no one at my right and Spencer is sitting directly in front of me today. We started eating our lunch waiting for everyone else to sit. I ate my pizza slice in peace until Jesse and Emily placed their trays across the table.

"Hey everyone ready for the game?!" Jesse asks the group, everyone answered 'yea' while I said 'sure'.
They discussed and debated on which team will win but in my option I could care less. So I sat there finishing my pizza only leaving the pepperoni and the burnt crust. After they finished their debate Connor showed up with his friends and sat next to me.

"Hey girls, Emma you saved me a seat how nice of you babe." That made me roll my eyes.

"No, I didn't Spencer just wanted to sit in front of me that's all."

"Whatever you say babe."

"You guys are too much." Ari says after letting a long laugh. Evil much?

"So I see you're wearing the cherry Chapstick I love." He says while staring at my lips and back at my eyes.

"You got my five bucks in your pocket?"

"Yea I do."

"Good that's all I care about."

And with that I turned around facing the groups with my back towards him.

"Ouch Connor I think you'll need ice for that." One of his friends yelled from across the table.

"Shut up, will you Mark?"

"Oh did that make the supposed 'Alpha' of the supposed 'pack' mad?" Spencer asks in babiesh taunting way. Which made a few of us laugh.

"The Alpha does whatever for his Luna." Connor says while giving me a cheeky smile.

"You're so full of yourself and and cheesy?!" I laughed and rolled my eyes.

"Anything for you." He got up from his sit took my left over pepperoni and winked at me before leaving.

"He's impossible." I said after he left.

"Hey Em isn't your brother on the football team as well?" Spencer asked.

"Yea he's a quarterback and sometimes linebacker why?"

"Does he know you'll be there because if you do end up kissing the 'wishes he was the all mighty Alpha I don't think he'll like it. I mean brothers don't really care for me about daily things or whatever but when it comes to guys they get brotherly protective." She says.

"He doesn't know I'm going but there's no need to worry because I'm winning the bet not him. But I'm going to tell Jake that I'm going to the game."

I left the table and walked up to Jake's table and to my luck Connor was there I think they were having some kind of team meeting. There were a least more than 25 kids. Surrounding two full long tables.

"Jake?" When I spotted him he was talking and showing them what I'm guess are the plays? They all look so focused and I got to say Jake makes a great team leader.

"Jake you busy?" Now instead of getting Jake's attention I got the whole teams too.

"Emma what do you want?" Ouch, rude much?

"Jake who is this and what did we say about girlfriends in team meeting." A tall guy blonde hair and green eyes with a deep voice asked.

"Give me a minute will you?" Jake asked and walked towards me.

"Bros before hoes? And that means meetings too."

"First of all she's not a hoe and second she's Emma. My sister." With that we walked away from the tables with him pushing me from the back.

"What do you want Emma you almost got me in trouble!"

"Sorry geez what's he going to do, make you run laps?" I asked with a laugh

"No, but he could hold this against me and possibly kick me off the team."

"Well sorry for that it just wanted to tell you that I'm going to your game."

"What you never go why now?"

"Well because I don't have homework for tomorrow, I don't want to be alone at home and because I love my brother so much that I want to see him play a sport he loves which I totally don't understand."

"As much as I want to believe that we both know that's not the real reason. why?"

"Okay okay my friends asked me to go to the game with them and to one of their house after."

"Does mom know about this?"

"You see she lives in our neighborhood so I don't see anything wrong since walk home everyday."

"Yea well we walk home together."

"Jake!" I say with anger he thinks I'm six.

"How about you go to the game and I walk you to her house after the game."

"Fine! You win." I accept.

"I always do and I got to go." He says with a smile.

"Okay." I say flatly.

"Okay. Bye"

I walk back to our table to tell the girls and they don't mind me walk to their house with Jake.
