"Why did you kill me? What did I ever do to you? I'm innocent." A sad male voice cried to Amber. She yelled as she saw the blood running down his face and eyes. His body was disfigured and his limbs looked broken.
"I didn't know you'd be in that car I swear. I had no idea." She cried. The disfuigured body wailed in agony before breaking out in a grin.
"Come with me then. I'll take you with me." He said as he stretched his hands towards her. Amber shook her head as she tried to run but she realized that her legs were glued to the ground.
"No no no please no. No!"
Amber jolted up from her bed and looked around her room. The darkness began to create images in her head. She saw the man in her nightmares everywhere.
"Get away from me!" She yelled as she fell off from her bed. She ran towards the bathroom and yanked the door open. The fluorescent light shone brightly as she locked the door behind her. Her heart pounded quickly and her breaths came out in short pants. The nightmares were becoming worse everyday.
After a few minutes, she went towards the mirror and stared at her reflection. The girl looking back at her was nothing like her former self. The peaceful, happy-go-lucky girl whose biggest worry was missing her favourite show. Beads of sweat trickled down her face and she turned on the faucet to wash it off. She cupped her hands under the water and wiped her face. Staring back at the mirror, she saw blood on her face. She screeched in horror as the water in the sink turned to blood, similar to the bloody sight in the rain that fateful day.
Suddenly the man in her nightmares appeared in the mirror and stretched his hands towards her.
"Stop!! I'm sorry!!" She screamed as she fell on the floor and crawled to a corner. Tears rolled down her cheeks while she wiped her hands. Yet the blood she saw on her hands remained. "I didn't mean to kill you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." She sobbed as she wiped her hands over and over again.
"Amber?! Amber baby open the door please." Her mother pleaded pounding on the bathroom.
"Mummy there's blood in my hands." Amber cried.
"Baby open the door." Her mother begged again. Her husband came with the spare key and the opened the door only to see their only child curled up in the floor, furiously scrubbing her hands.
Her mother rushed to her and embraced her tightly. Amber broke down in tears, holding her mother. Her father looked round the room and realized that there was no blood anywhere. He quickly turned off the faucet.
"Mummy, he wants to take me." Amber wailed. Her parents looked at each other in surprise as they wondered what she was talking about.
"Who wants to take you?" Her father asked.
"The dead officer." Amber replied honestly. Her father was puzzled for a second and decided to make sense of the situation.
"God forbid." Her mother quickly said.
"Why would he want to take you?" Her father asked curiously. His wife tried to caution him but he held up his hand.
"It's not my fault.." Amber cried, "I didn't know he was in the car. I cut the brakes for Mr Nonso alone and not for the officer." She confessed unknowingly. Her mother gasped letting go of her for a second before holding her again.
"But the news said Ultio caused the accident.." Her father said after a minute. He couldn't believe what was going on. The only possible answer was that his daughter was loosing her mind.
Amber broke away from her mother hug. She slowly wiped her eyes and glanced at her father. The man was almost fuming as he waited for her to reply him and she did. "I.. I am.."
