Valentine's day 🧡
The compound of Willow Heights was decorated to the brim and almost looked like a big festival was being held. There were lights of every colour around the compound making the evening look as bright as day. The students made their way to the school hall in their best dresses and button up shirts excitedly.
In front of the second entrance of the school hall was a red carpet with a balloons and ribbons all over the wall beside the door. The photographer took the pictures of the students that posed. Pasted by the door was a cardboard paper that said 'Seniors only'
"Where's Gabby for crying out loud?" Nini whined as she and Brume stood beside the camera man. Her red gown hugged her body tightly and the colour matched the slight lipstick on her lips.
"Last time I saw her, she was going to the class for her make-up." Brume replied, looking around. She wore a backless blue dress. She had only applied lipgloss but her perfectly sculpted melanin face made it look like it was all the make-up in the world. Her eyes came in contact with a girl who she couldn't recognize as her best friend because of the make-up on her face and the designer she was putting on. "Oh my.."
"God." Nini completed as they gaped at Gabby.
Gabby smiled at the attention she was getting from her friends and did a little twirl for them. She was putting on a strapless purple gown that went down to her toes but the side slit went really high to her mid thighs. Her hair was styled to perfection and the makeup on her face made her look like a model straight out of a magazine cover.
"Who did your make-up?" Nini asked when Gabby came closer.
"Who else?" Gabby replied as she turned to face the boy who she came with.
"Gerald Gerald" Brume hailed. Gerald who was busy applying lipgloss rolled his eyes. He checked his face on the mirror he was holding and smiled at his reflection.
"Gabby, remember the payment. I'll be off now." His soft voice said and the girls giggled.
"What's the payment?" Nini asked as soon as the boy entered the hall.
"I caught him red handed keeping a gift for his Valentine crush in the gift basket. The one Kelvin and I left in the class yesterday for the secret Valentine. So my job is to keep quiet." Gabby explained as they walked to the spot where the pictures were being taken.
"Say sixteen!" The camera man said.
"Who did he leave the gift for?" Nini asked and Gabby zipped her mouth with her fingers.
"I'm not like you." She replied.
"At least tell us the gender now." Brume pleaded and they laughed before facing the camera.
"Sixteen!!"

They were about to walk up the stairs when they sighted Joy. The girl was putting on a sleeveless floral gown that ran down to her toes, covering her shoes, with a jean jacket.
"Joy!" Nini screeched, making the girl jump in surprise.
"What in the world are you wearing?" Brume asked looking at the girl from her shoulders to feet.
"Joy dear. Um.. this is not the way to the church you know." Gabby laughed.
"I don't see anything wrong with it." Joy replied heading to the picture stand.
