after meeting the headmaster, principal Weems, she brought my parents and I up to my room.

ophelia hall

i follow my mother, father, and principal weems upstairs, and down a corridor

principal Weems opens a big brown double door, allowing me to walk in. afew steps into the room my body freezes as my eyes stare at a blast of colour.

a bizarre girl runs up to me.

"howdy roomie!" the girl says with a excited tone.

"this is Enid Sinclair, your roommate." Weems adds.

i still stare at the blast of colour.

"is... she okay?" Enid questions.

"Wednesday is.. allergic to colour."

"oh no, what happens to you?" Enid questions.

"my flesh burns and peels off my bones." i answer while turning my head to her.

"fortunately, we special ordered you a uniform." weems declares. "Enid, show Wednesday around, pick up her uniform as-well."

—————

first we toured some classrooms, then this interesting place where everyone was gathered around.

"welcome to the quad"

"it's a pentagon." i say.

we walked through the people as enid rambled about the different outcasts here at nevermore.

suddenly, a boy wearing a blue beanie walks up to enid, not seeing me as i'm behind enid.

"yo enid, you would not believe the dirt i heard about your new roommate!" the boy said.

enid's eyes widen as a snake slithers out of the boys beanie.

"i heard she killed a kid at her old school, better watch your back."  the boy adds on.

enid moves over revealing me.

"actually i fillet the bodies of my victims, then feed them to my variety of pets." i say, with a serious tone. like always.

the snake slithers back into the hat as the boy stands there shocked.

"Ajax, this is Wednesday, my new roommate. Wednesday, this is Ajax."  enid adds on.

"i should-" Ajax says before walking off.

"ignore ajax, he spends way to much time getting stoned."

i once again, say nothing.

"i'm guessing when you said 'scales' you were referring to sirens?" i question.

enid nods, and points at a girl.

- Enid: "that's Bianca, she's like the queen bee, but, her crowns been slipping."

Enid points at a guy who is painting a mural.

"that's Xavier, he's like- a 'mysterious' artist, him and bianca broke up this semester." enid took a pause before looking at me. "reason unknown."

"fascinating." i dimly say.

"i know, right!"

"my blog is like, the NUMBER ONE source for nevermore gossip."

after touring, enid brought me to get my uniform.

thankfully, my uniform wasn't blue, like enid's and the rest of the students. it was black.

after trying on my uniform, i went outside to say farewell to my family.

pugsley was upset. he's weak. i give him 2 months without me.

my mother gave me a obsidian necklace before leaving.
————— later

after the tour, i went to my room to work on my novel. of course, my roommate, Enid, was being incredibly annoying. she was playing music that made my ears ring- no, bleed.

i stood up and turned to her, she's... dancing? to this garbage song.

"then that off."

"this is your final warning." i add.

i walk towards her as enid raises her hand, and her claws, come out- well, extend.

she growls.

"don't mess with me, this kitties got claws and i'm not afraid to use them!" she says, in a high tone.

i stare into her eyes.

someone barged into the room, we both turn to the door as enid puts her hands behind her back in a hurry.

"sorry if i interrupted something, i'm mrs thornhill. you must be wednesday." mrs thornhill blurts.

i notice she carrie's a pot with a flower, and her red, muddy boots.

"don't mind the mud, i was gardening. speaking of gardening, Wednesday. i like to choose a flower for each of my girls. after reading your application this-"

"the black dahlia. like my favourite murder." i interrupt.

"i hope Enid is giving you a warm welcome." mrs thornhill says.

"yes, she's smothered me with hospitality." i say, enid smiles.

"i hope to do the same.. in her sleep." i say.

enid looks at me frightened.

"here, Wednesday." mrs thornhill says, passing me the flower.  "and, let's go over the dormitory rules." she says, starting a list.

"no smothering your roommate in their sleep, no making any waves, or perpetuating any outcast stereotypes, no sneaking out, and no boys, ever."

i slightly nod.

mrs thornhill leaves the room. "welcome, Wednesday!"

as it begins to darken outside, Enid flops down on her bed. minutes later i heard her grinding her teeth, and growling.

i continue to work on my novel, before settling for bed.
