I Will Protect You.... To Hell and Back

(Shadow's POV)
I was smoking from the box I found in the kitchen on top of a tractor while still at the Thompson farm after the shootout with the pigs but despite how it's been only thirteen minutes since, some other crazy shit been going on. I met Power and now the newly named Max after I killed their parents, I see that these bastards didn't even have a will in case they died to give their land to anyone but most surprisingly I learn that Power isn't a human or a Faunus like I originally thought but instead she is a Fiend, some kind of demon species that have great levels of power but because she never had love or training, she barely knows what the hell she's doing. 

Shadow:" I better ask Mo- Satan about Power since if anyone knows about demons, it would be for damn sure be her. I wonder what Fiends can do though. If that fucker Max was right though then blood may have something to do with Power's abilities. Wait can Fiends or I guess demons in general have semblances? If they can then does my daddy have one now? Will Power have one if she doesn't already? I would think though that since demons tend to have tougher bodies and higher abilities than humans they would have more aura so at least I can say that for sure." 

I sighed when my cigarette ran out and not having anymore in the box annoyed me but I heard some rustling from behind me so I looked over to see that Power and Max were still awake but when I looked to the sky I realized that the sun was starting to come up. Crap it was time to actually go back to the bitches now since I didn't have the cover of night anymore. I got to say that it surprised me that it was already dawn time now roughly. Suddenly Max called out to me to say that they found something in the barn that I might want so I jumped off the tractor and followed the now better clothed kids to the barn before seeing that there was a metal box the size of a crate with a combination lock on it. What took my attention away from it was that the kids looked at me with eyes I could tell were full of hope but also some fear so I pulled them both into a hug to try to calm them down a bit since it was now barely even a day after I made them orphans but I don't regret it at all since judging from the ways those shit bags spoke, they would never have stopped and looking at the girl I could only imagine what they would have done when she got older.

 Shadow:" So you two found this in here and think there's something inside I might find useful? Is that correct?"

 The two nodded but seemed a bit confused on why the lock didn't have a key hole judging by them trying to pull it off and I highly doubt they would know the combination. 

Shadow:" Stand back, I know what to do." 

They did what I said and I pulled the lock off easily and opening the chest, I saw that it was chocked full of wads of cash and other valuables like gold watches, silver coins and even some gold pieces that looked to be about the size of half dollars. 

Shadow:" How in the hell did those fuckers manage to get stuff like this!?!? This is over millions in just this Goddamn chest!!"

 Max just shrugged while Power just looked at the amount of money in the chest with her eyes looking to me.

  Shadow:" You two were right that I would love to take this money but I won't do that."

 Max:" O-Oh is it not enough? W-W-We can f-f-find some other stuff they might h-h-have."

 I walked over and put a finger on his lips to calm him down.

 Shadow:" No it IS enough for YOU two. This isn't my money nor those assholes that failed to be parents to you. It's your money so use it in anyway you have to or want to. You two are like me in more ways than you think and this here is the reward you two deserve for surviving. Understand?"
