With the sudden interruption, Edmund had no choice but to halt his curiosity while Vince stated, "Well, we can continue the storytelling later. What is your first class?"

Knowing the first class would be history class, Memories of the past flooded her mind during history class, drifting to the past when Eve and Evan had silly banter together. Reluctantly, she answered, "Hmm... First class... is History class."

Yesterday's night event was an eye-opener for her. The signs had been there all along — the way he never is jealous, the way he is always supportive towards her courting Edmund, and— his clear answer from Evan himself. Eve's last straw was when his parents' mocked her, and he did nothing. Their words cut her deeply, giving her a constant weight on her chest. She avoids him despite still living in his house as she tries to find a permanent solution.

Why would she stay with a man that just broken her heart?

It would be better if she moved on by moving out of his house.

The moment she felt alone and cornered, her heart ached. Before she could let her heart beat normally, Vince intercepted with a brilliant idea, "Actually, I have a good idea. Why don't you ask to change the schedule and make the schedule the same as Ed's? So, he can protect you."

"I would like to..." Remembering how the teacher treated her, Eve added, "But I can't go alone, right? The teacher would belittle me if I did." Vince nodded and agreed with Eve's thoughts. Nonchalantly, Vince ordered, "Ed, you can go with her." He tapped Eve's shoulder and said, "I'm going first, and you can go with her to the teacher's room to propose the changes in her schedule as she is going to take the same schedule as you."

At this opportunity given by Vince, Edmund replied, "Fine." Without batting an eye.

Edmund glanced at Eve, who walked side by side with him. He began to question her during their walk to the teacher's office.

A Gloomy air surrounded the young lion, who was none other than Evan. Since yesterday night, Eve had been ignoring him, and when he tried to talk to her this morning, she brushed him off with a vague excuse that she needed to go to Edmund and took a distance far away as if he were a walking virus. Hence, Evan couldn't shake the feeling that something was off, affecting his mood.

As he sat with his gang, his mind raced with all the different scenarios that could have caused her to pull away. Has he done something offensive? Was it because of his parents' mockery? He couldn't comprehend the situation, but the doubt slowly ate him away.

He tried to join the group's conversation, yet, his mind kept drifting back to Eve. He kept stealing glances in Eve's direction, hoping she would turn around and smile, but she steadfastly enjoyed her conversation with Edmund's group. His heart ached before burning due to an unknown feeling he couldn't decipher, nor had he ever felt before.

He, himself, was quite curious about what this feeling that his feeling.

Little did he know that feeling was jealousy.

His strong Feeling to snatch Eve away from Edmund's group was nothing but a wish. Ironically, he doesn't have the right to do so.

Who am I? I'm not her friend or family. Just a flirting partner. Yeah, a flirting partner.

A bitter smile plastered on Evan's lips. One of his group, a Latino twin with his average-looking yet undeniably charming Carlos, realized he had been spacing. He opened a conversation, "How about you, Evan? What's up?" From Evan's perspective, he is one of the jackasses who didn't accept Eve as a Fallen, not that he was nice to her in the first place before she was one of the Fallen, hence, why the resentment on his face was obvious.
