To be confronted with the odor of death, or rotting flesh to be exact, wasn't the first thing I had in mind for a safe spot but who the hell cared. Standing up i looked at the infected strait in the face, the infected had blood oosing from its mouth, open woulnds on its neck, obviously had been in fights with other infected. The clothes were ragged from years or possibly months of worn down moments. I watched its actions closely awaiting an attack but nothing came, its breathings was hitched and audiable at every intake of air. I never relaxed though but my blood seemed to flow smoothely instead of picking up like it use to when in the face of danger. When my eyes traveled up to see it's eyes, it was already looking into mine, it took a step forward and sniffed or what seemed like it, close to my neck. The infected pulled away then turned around and continued to walk along like I was not a threat.. what? I walked in the direction the infected came from to see that there were more stranded or nomadic infecteds in this place. All of which stopped and sniffed me and then forgot about me in seconds. Well this is a surprise, so I continued my walk deeper into the back of the tunel to see a slight crack, but big enough for at least a single body through. Maybe that's why there's nomads in this tunel, it was the perfect place since their eyes were sensative to light sources, this place didn't have light. I stepped through the crack in the wall to a large room of hundreds of infected.
I slowly walked through the clustered group of infected which didn't even turn their heads to look at me but just wondered away. I walked to a slight opening over-looking the District with some infected doing the same as I was, and I knew right away what was going on. These monsters were caged and hungry and at the break of sunset, they were going to charge forward. My senses were picking up on theirs, the hunger, the anxiety, the anger, the anticipation, the taste of blood, and it was over-powering me. I wanted to attack along with this group of infected, I could understand now, what they wanted. Revenge.
So while during the wait for sunset I found a good spot in the corner of the some-what cave and sat down and sharpening my blade. Unlike these dead brains, my human blood is the only thing keeping me the way I am and my infected part must be taking over more and more of me each day. My end was near and I wasn't leaving without a good fight against the people that let this thing spread. To the people that judged me when I was small for being what I am, for hiding me in the darkness. The anger built up more and more and now I was aching for the moon. I took out my blade and started to sharpen it on a rock next to me, each time I glided my blade across the rock I had a past memory fade. I never had a childhood unless needle, procejure, tests, and neglection was considered a childhood.
Minutes pass....
It was finally around sundown and most of us were getting restless at this point, some infected got into fights with each other over rotted meat to sustain themselves. I have a group of 15 infected following me right about now because I have the most anger and dominance that they could sense it fuming off of my skin. I was standing at the entrence and began to walk out when the sun disappeared behind the mountains, and the rest followed. It took us a small ammount of time since now the infect could run we made our way in no time at all. The sirens were set off at our approach and guns were firing like crazy. The sounding of bullets fly by me like hornets ina pissed off state didn't bother me, I was use to it but other infected by me fell to the ground.
I reached the walls that protected the District and climbed it with ease, the infected followed and that's when it clicked. The infected learn by watching and now they knew how to climb. I reached the top of the wall while there was a line of men that were trigger happy anf firedat me and the others that followed behind me. I was quick and dropped but a bullet caught my left shoulder in the process while the infected swarmed the walls and got over, attacking the men. I rushed behind them, blending in, and making my way into the Main Hall. I could hear screams of the people in the District followed by gun fire, but I had something on my mind.
