*Next day, Johnny POV*
I was sitting in front of a glass wall next to an orange phone. I see a police officer bring in my dad. He sat down in front of me with an upset look which made me nervous.
"Where were you," is all he said in a harsher and tougher tone than how he normally talks. Even though I expected that, it still made me nervous.
"Um.. thing is... I-I went to get gas and-"
"DON'T LIE TO ME," is what he said as he slammed his hand on the counter. His tone caught the attention of the inmates next to him and the officers behind him. I let out a breath as I tried to calm myself down.
"I was at rehearsal."
My confession was clearly not the answer my dad was expecting. When I told him about the contest he just looked very disappointed. I take a deep breath as I decide to just tell him the truth. I mean I'm already a Deadman to him so might as well confess.
"I'm sorry dad, I just don't want to be in your gang. I want to be a singer and maybe even get a girlfriend." I let out a breath as I slowly looked up at my dad, who was confused and displeased with my confession.
"But don't worry dad, I can get the bail money. The prize is a hundred thousand dollars and this girl is honestly the most amazing girl I've met-"
My dad then slams both his hands on the counter and makes me stop as I jump back in fear. He gives me a death glare as he raises the phone back to his ear.
"How did I end up with a son like you? You're nothing like me. You never were and never will."
I was shocked and hurt when I heard my dad say those words. He then lets go of the phone and just walks away, not giving any time to really process what happened. I lean against the glass as I cry to call out to my dad. I promise him I'll get the money to bail him out. But should I really wait for the contest or should I talk matters into my own hands.
*later that day; 3rd POV*
It was about time everyone left the theater but since you got permission to stay longer, you decided to change your routine. The main reason was because of Buster's comment. He didn't really have many comments with you as with the other contests but he still told you that you should probably go with a more personal song. You decide to do a song and dance routine from your song 'Me And My Broken Heart' but after his comment, he made you think. His words didn't really affect you since you were used to harsh criticism and when compared to what people have told you in the past, Buster's criticism sounded like compliments. It also helped that you talked to him about your introduction to your act and he agreed to your request.
You looked through your phone since you wrote down some patenical songs to choose. Your eyes stopped when you noticed one song. You decide that will be the song you were going to do. You were about to start coming up with what you were going to do when you noticed you didn't have your hoodie. You look around your room and see it isn't inside. You then groan as you roll your eyes as you remember that you left it upstairs. You get out of your room to head up stairs. You scroll through your phone as you go up the stairs.
You make it upstairs and open the door. You were so focused on your phone that you didn't really pay attention to the room. You grab your hoodie from the coat hanger and you feel something tap your arm. You jump as you didn't think anyone was inside since both Buster and Ms. Crawly were out running some arens. You look up to see Johnny.
"Holy shit Johnny, you scared me," you said as you put your hand on your chest, feeling your heartbeat increase.
"Sorry I didn't mean to but I was really hoping you could give some extra piano lessons," Johnny said as he tried to calm you down.
