Part 16: Live with me

It was the next day and as you mentioned the night before, you and Johnny went to go visit Marcus in jail. Johnny visits Marcus once a month and you would every now and then join him. You never asked Johnny to let you tag along since you wanted Johnny to spend some time with his dad but when you did, you and Marcus would have a nice chat.

You got ready as you looked back on your bed to see the plushie. You let out a sigh as you went to your kitchen to get a drink. You looked around to see just look around your little apartment. There's nothing different about it but it felt empty.

"I wonder how he'd react if I asked him if we could move in together. How would he react? Has he even thought about it," is all you thought about as you drank your drink. You looked at your phone to see it was 11:30 so you finished your drink and you grabbed your stuff as you headed outside. You got outside your building to see a black truck coming up the block. You wave it over and it parks in front of you.

"Hi baby," you said as you got into the truck.

"Hello Love, ready to go," Johnny said as you shared a quick kiss. You tell him yes and he starts to drive to the jail. You guys just talked about random stuff but you weren't really paying attention to the conversation. You were only thinking about how he would react if you popped the question about moving in together. You wanted to ask but bite your tongue as you guys made it to the jail.

You two are waiting for them to bring in Marcus. Johnny was sitting on the side closest to the phone since he and his dad did most of the talking and you would cut in when it felt right or when Marcus would want to talk to you. The officer brings in Marcus and he asks how the relationship is going so Johnny starts to tell him about your date yesterday.

"Whoa, nice to see my son can still impress you. Good job on that my boy," Marcus said, clearly proud of Johnny.

"Thanks dad. You should have seen her face. It was truly a sight to see," Johnny said as he gave a sly grin.

"Oh okay, moving on," you said with a bit embarrassed as you pulled down the phone a bit closer to you.

"Marcus, I heard you guys will be released soon. That's good," you said, trying to change the conversation.

"Yeah. Me and the lads will be released in about a month or two but we got to do a lot of community service," Marcus as he let out a tired groan.

"That's good. At least you guys will be free," you said in a positive tone. Marcus nods his head and gives a little side smile as you guys continue to talk about things you have been up to since the last time you've seen him.

The time for the visit ended and you guys told Marcus goodbye as an officer escorted him back to his cell.

"Nice to hear that he'll be released soon, right Johnny."

"Yeah. I'm so happy."

You guys make it back to the truck and Johnny starts to drive. You expected him to take you guys either back to your place or the garage but noticed he missed the turn to go to either one of them.

"Um, Johnny? Where are we going?"

"I want to show you something Love."

You tilted your head a bit but you knew that Johnny would never put you in danger so you just sat back in your seat. You looked out the window trying to figure out where you were going but you couldn't figure it out. You start to gently rub the scars on your wrist which was a habit you picked up when you're nervous. Even though you knew that you were safe, it still made you uneasy that you didn't know where you were going.

Johnny eventually stopped the truck in front of a nice home. Johnny gets out of the truck as you did the same. You look at the house as you see Johnny opening the door. The house was grey with a nice porch and looked big but cozy. It had a nice front lawn with a big tree casting some nice shade. You had a guess why you two were here but you didn't say it out loud since you weren't entirely sure if you were right.
