foolish hardly had time to breathe because the café was so stupidly busy. not just were people wanting hot drinks after being in the snow, but it's their last day open before christmas, so everyone in the area seemed to be getting their last dose of café magic.
regardless, he is more than relieved when niki and sam show up, after what feels like days, and he can finally leave.
he, for no real reason, tells them both, "good luck today, it's been absolute torture," and the look of horror on their faces does nothing but make him laugh.
he's already out back, with his apron off and one coat on, when punz finally makes his way out.
"jeez, that was rough," the blond sighs, making his way over to his locker.
"yeah, i'm glad it's over," foolish replies, "and now we finally get some time off."
"have you got any plans for tonight then?" punz wonders, looking over at foolish whilst switching out his apron and coat.
foolish shrugs, fully facing punz as he tugs on his second, thicker coat. "i don't think so."
punz smiles, taking his bag out before closing his locker and messing up the numbers on the padlock. "do you wanna hang out?" he asks, "my parents aren't home so we could sit in the lounge and watch a christmas movie or something?" he suggests.
"sounds good," foolish agrees, his heart running marathons in his chest as he tries his absolute best not to look too excited by the proposition. "let me just ask if it's okay," he says as he pulls out his phone.
the brunette is thankful that punz has heard enough to already know that his parents are strict, as the blond just hums understandingly as foolish types out a message.

Hey mom, I was just wondering if I could hang out with one of my friends tonight? I wouldn't be home late or need money or anything. Xx
Oh, but your Dad took the afternoon off for dinner remember??
We were going to have our Christmas eve movie night today since we aren't home tomorrow.
Could we not do that later tonight?
When I get home?
Dinner is already in the oven though. Could you not see your friend another day?
foolish just slightly looks up from his phone, glancing across the room at punz.
the blond is passing time on his phone and, with the assurance that punz isn't looking, he looks back down at his phone.
