Is the Joker One Step Ahead Than the Batman?

Scarlet looked down at her notification as she saw Jake like her recent instagram story. It was a picture in the Wayne manor library during the evening where the sun created a warm glow outside. She shrugged it off going onto his profile again for a quick nosey. Apart from the encounter after school, she has rarely seen him about. They have smiled to each other in the hall but usually go back to talking with their other friends. She glanced through the photos and taggs to see what he could've been like at his old school.

"What ya looking at?" Scarlet put her phone away as her and Tim were holding their lunch trays. "It's nothing" she shrugged sitting down with everyone. Tim raised an eyebrow so she scattered her brain for something different to share "You know, like, I hate how we have no leads on the Joker stuff. Something is going to happen sooner or later. Surely the Batman must know something"  Wendy joined in by saying "Even if he does, it hasn't done much. Have you seen the news?" The whole table nodded silently as they chewed their food. They all began thinking about the various things happening to the city. Additionally, feeling the guilt as they were all in a much privilege place compared to others.

Scarlet's nose scrunched. The Batman who changed her life all those years ago wouldn't just let this slide. If she was honest, her views on Batman changed over the years. She disagreed how he handled his villains and recruiting children into such violent acts. However, he was the hero of Gotham and has done more good than bad. But what was he doing? He was suppose to be the greatest detective? The city can't work without him.

Or can they....

Scarlet slammed her spoon down that caused her table to turn to her. Something clicked to her "We need to do something" Everyone glanced at each other before staring back at the girl. She continued "Gotham Police aren't doing anything. Batman can't stop them. Maybe we could figure things out too"  Raiden blinked before saying "Like become detectives?" "Yeah!" Scarlet pointed.
Joel raised an eyebrow "You think we, a group of teenagers, can find the Joker better than Batman?" Charlie chuckled a little agreeing it was far fetched. "Of course not. But we all feel shit about it. We can't do it better but we can try." She looked between them as their faces still weren't convinced. She sighed turning to Tim who surprisingly very quiet amongst the discussion. Rolling her eyes she scooted closer to the table and lowered her voice.

"We are the most prestiigious private school in Gotham. With some of the richest and wealthiest kids and parents out there. You really think we won't be a target at some point?"

The group's eyes traced around the hall realising this fact. Charlie bit her lip as Wendy and Joel started playing with their food. Raiden started tapping his hand on the table.

"I'm not saying to be the next super heros" Scarlet smirked. She then started moving her hands in excitement as she explained the plan "But even if we just keep a look out on suspicious things it will make a difference, I don't know what yet but it could help"
